It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top for the Republicans and the Democrats in New Hampshire. The DrudgeReport has a live counter on their front page, and at this stage Hillary’s only just ahead of Obama with half the vote counted. John McCain is in the lead for the Republicans. Which is better than Huckabee or Romney if you ask me.

|
Could be wrong but I think Obama could be good for the country.
|
|
He would certainly be better then Hitlery, but I’d rather see neither get elected. I’ll give Obama the fact that he seems the most genuine and honest of the Dems. Out of the Republicans, I’d like to see either Romney or Thompson get elected. I think Romney would run the country more like a business, which I think we need. I think Thompson might take after Regan, which I would LOVE to see. If Billary gets elected, I might be looking for a new home.

Hey, the last two elections, I do beleive we picked the best person for the job. Kerry didn’t have a flippin clue as to what was going on and couldn’t give a single straight answer (kinda like Hitlery), and Gore was just not a good choice. I firmly believe my country is better off because neither of them were elected. People can point fingers and blame my current president all they wish, the fact of the matter is a lot of the stuff he is dealing with is the reminated from the previous president (Slick Willy) because Clinton either ignored them or put a “patch” on them just long enough to get his ass out of office. I LOVE it how the liberals are says “We need change” and yet blindly back Hitlery. Do they realize that since 1988, we have had either a Bush or Clinton in office? Sounds like Hitlery would be a big change…

racinfarmer, where do the major contenders stand on the gun laws issue? Anyone sticking their neck and pushing for a change to what you have now?
|
|
Sorry racinfarmer nothing will convince me Bush is anything but the worst person to run a country.Years from now no one will be able to explain to their children and grand children how he got power and kept it. And how he got away with everything he has done. He is by far the worst president ever.

John McCain is in the lead for the Republicans. Which is better than Huckabee or Romney if you ask me. Do you realise McCain wants to stay in Iraq for the next 100 years?. The guy is a warmongering nut case who’d give anything to bomb iran. Huck and Romney are a couple of religious freaks. Hillary and Obama…who cares…It’s a tabloid circus show. One cry’s for the cameras and the other smiles, waves and talks about ‘change’ and ‘hope’. Ron Paul is the only guy worth electing.

Anyone want to get anywhere close to balancing the US Budget? Huge deficits even when the economy is in good shape… and now it’s heading into recession again. Can’t be a global super power unless you can pay the bills.

Haven’t heard any of them specifically mention gun control as they are all to busy kicking and screaming at each other (except Hitlery, she is too busy finding question plants and spreading rumors about everyone else).
I don’t care if you like Bush or not, I’d much rather have him the Gore (the lying bastard should be in jail right now anyhow). If you look at our current presidents, the ones that are usually remembered as the greatest ever (Truman anyone?) usually were HATED by the media and had very low approval ratings. You talk to the average person on the street and usually they say he is doing an ok job. You talk to someone in the media or a liberal and they think he should be in jail. John McCain is in the lead for the Republicans. Which is better than Huckabee or Romney if you ask me. Romney isn’t a religious freak, it is only what the media is making him out to be. He is Morman. I’ve been surrounded by them for several years now. They are very nice people and very normal people.
I haven’t heard any REAL plans other then to tax the rich and corperations out of America and into other countries or out of work. Do you know anyone who is willing to work for $.30 of every dollar they make? I know I sure as hell won’t!

Not sure if this is the usual way they do it in the states, but i”ve found it interesting that none of the Republican candidates seem to have taken up any opportunities to have a photo op with the sitting Pres.

i second this.

Danz, I made my choice on the Republican side for McCain for a few reasons: You are right about the Iraq stuff, he does still want to ‘win the war’, and find Osama, which I find scary, but the topsy-turvy values that his rivals have scare me even more. I’ll also agree with socks and doddsy, G-Dubya is by far the worst president in US history. What stuns me is that on shows like David Letterman, they’ll have a clip every week of something ridiculous their president has said. Every week. The man produces idiotic soundbytes in mammoth quantities. Someone with even half a brain can’t be that consistently stupid. Greatest Moments In Presidential Speeches PS. I don’t exactly know how the rest of the primaries work, but I really want Obama to make a comeback.

Bunny, you’re buying into the fear campaign that the repubs have been selling for years. It’s time to change policy and give peace a chance.

Sorry Danz, are you under the impression I’d vote Republican? I’m not into the fear campaigns at all, but at the same time I am terrified of another Republican taking office.
|
|
Obama seems like a reasonable proposition, saw an old clippage of his interview with Charlie Rose on youtube. In the end, If America is now ready for a black president.. he will certainly be the Man. Americans are pretty tired on the Bush era or legacy.

Hahahaha, you are talking about a republican fear campaign? Look at the stuff the Clinton campaign is doing.

I’m sorry for not knowing you better, but you live in America? I do.

Haha, while not agreeing at all, I get where racinfarmer’s coming from. If I was a supporter of G-Dubya, I would look at the Clinton campaign as a fear campaign. I would mostly attribute that to the fact that a lot of Republicans live in denial of the disingenuous, underhanded, deceitful manner with which the Bush Administration has managed the US for the past 8 years. If you’re a democrat looking at the Clinton campaign, she’s promoting change across a number of key policy areas (health, tax reform, the military), and it’s a campaign of hope and optimism. It’s sad the democrats need to remind everyone how badly the place has been run by bringing up past issues, but if they can overcome the apathy that let Bush back into the White House for a second term, they will resoundingly defeat the Republicans.

While it may seem like I am a hardcore Bush supporter, I am not. I am smart enough to realize that he has been spending money like a drunken liberal, he has used his veto power very little, caves easily, and the party I support hasn’t been the greatest. I am also smart enough to see that both sides of the game have been pretty much worthless since the liberal took control of the house and congress. Nothing meaningful has got done. Bush even tells them that if they pass “bill x” up to him, he will veto it, and yet they continue to do shit they know won’t pass. Pretty much it has become one giant pissing match, and as usual, the liberals are able to shout the loudest, but do the least. Remember the first 100 hours. What exactly did they do? Oh ya, jack shit. And the Clinton/change thing. No, there will be very little change, it’ll just be a continuation of Slick Willy’s terms in office. She really has no real platform to stand on, doesn’t take a side on the issues that matter, and writes the book, no, EPIC NOVEL on mud slinging. The platforms she does stand on (tax the rich even more, free healthcare, and less military) just don’t work. They never will in America. You tax the rich even more (say to the Ford admin. standards), they’ll either move their companies overseas, close down, or quit working. They won’t work for 30 cents on the dollar. They are rich, they don’t need to, and it just gives them further incentive to sell out or move overseas. The healthcare stuff is a big fear tactic. I’ll let the world in on a little secret. My wife works at a public hospital. If someone shows up with no insurance and needs attention or medication, they legally have to give it to them. If that person just disappears without paying their bill, the hospital absorbs the costs and redistributes them to others (can you say higher insurance?). Ya, a real crisis we are in… I firmly believe that we pretty much need a complete overhaul of the government.
