Wonder if he'll be back on the footy show?

He said he wont be back on the footy show. I hope Jessica Rowe gest his job smile.gif

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

It's always been on the cards since he went back into the gameshow circuit. It's a matter of time before we see him crying on Sam's shoulder about Channel 7's coverage of the footy. Speaking of which - why don't they just make that a segment in the Footy Show?

Can someone fill me in on when boned stopped being a euphemism for "rooted" & started being one for getting sacked???

I think when Eddie himself used that term in regards to sacking Jessica Rowe.

I thought he just got caught saying he'd like to shag her & had to make up some piss weak excuse to get out of it. Eg: "I didn't mean I wanted to boof her I meant I was going to fire her..."

I first heard it used on the 12th man CD. His last album was called the "The 12th man - boned!" and it's all about the boning/sacking of the commentary team.

That album came out well after Eddie's use of the term was brought to the public eye.

Billy Birmingham actually said that he changed the name and script of the CD after he heard Eddie using the term.

Fishman Dan,

No even Channel 10 are saying that 7 are doing a crappy job laugh.gif

The channel 7 coverage of the football surely gives them enough ammunition.

The world's biggest ever tosspot. What a shame.

Once a game show host always a game show host.

tall poppy syndrome is still rife in this country - what a shame.

I for one can only prey he dosen't return to the footy show was just starting to enjoy it again. Stick to your silly little game show Ed it's all your good for.

Bitter & twisted people. Most people hate him because he's a Collingwood supporter...but most clubs would love to have their own Eddie Mcg.

Considering where he came from, he's done bloody well for himself. It was great listening to all the Sydney Spivs squirm when they heard Eddie was becoming Chanel 9 CEO...

Why is there such hostility towards this bloke? His footy commentary was average, but other than that, I have always thought he is a good talent.

Well said. Ditto. Most of those who dislike McGuire cannot see past their anti-Collingwood bias.

Mick

He was quite popular pre Collingwood presidency.

Yes, why would he want to return to the show? He would ruin it, I mean what would he know, he only created the concept and produced the first season ohmy.gif

Despite the way he mangles the English language and can't pronounce the name of his own country properly, Eddie has contributed well to the AFL's current financial strength through his promotional influence.

But CEO of a billion dollar-plus entity is a few million steps too far for a Broady Boy.

Be great to see Eddie on TV more often, he will end up with more gongs than Gra-Gra

For further information, send me a PM?

Mick

And this is somehow wrong??? If you can't hate Collingwood and the supporters, what's left???

Once a bogan, always a bogan.
