Dumbass teachers stage fake school shooting

Happened in the states, of course. Dickbrain teachers decided an impromptu fake school shooting was a good idea, and carried it out, telling the kids repeatedly it wasn't a drill.
Kids were 11 years old, by the way.

Racinfarmer if you read this can you please help me work something out...what would've happened if one or more of these kids had been armed like some think they should be?????

Teachers tend to be liberal and paint everything is the WORST possible situation. They probably did it to prove a point of some sort. Could have just as easily happened in Aus.

I doubt it. We have pretty tight gun laws over here. Unlike the idiots in the USA, we believe that you DON'T have the right to bare arms, and even if you're allowed to bare them, we have tight control on what types of guns are allowed. For instance, all auto-matic/semi-automatic weapons are banned in Australia.
You cannot walk into Kmart (type of WalMart) and buy a shot gun,
you cannot buy a gun without a waiting period, and you certinally
cannot carry one around.

Well said Ben, Gun ownership in Australia is a privilege, not a right, which is exactly how it should be. Here you need a damn good reason to own a gun, not just an excuse to fire one. I dont miss any of the guns I handed back to the government all those years ago.

Agreed. This is one of many areas where the USA is all f#&%ed up. The right to bare arms is not a right, but a privilege. Off topic, but I was watching an episode of COPS the other night. The cop had a female doing a roadside sobriety test. What a load of $#!t. Change your legislation and buy some preliminary breath testing devices. Only then will you save the tens of thousands of lives needlessly lost on your roads each year. Back on topic, change your firearms laws to be similar to Australia and you will save thousands more lives. The sooner Americans realize that the rights of society as a whole far outweigh the perceived rights of the individual the better off they will be. Mick

It's very brave to bare arms in Victoria at this time of
year. Time to put a jumper on. I agree with the sentiment though, bearing arms is a privilege not a right, and there was no valid reason for the teachers to stage this stunt.

Fake gun to scare the kids not possible? I have seen some pretty real looking spray-bombed squirtguns.
V-Man, I to think it should be a privilage and not a right, but most of society doesn't think that way, so until that time, I think it should be a right for any sane, of age, and law-abiding citizen have them (sound like a privilage?).

Who defines sane and at what age people have the responsibility to own a gun? Studies have shown that male minds do not develop the "responibility" area of their brain until their mid-late 20's. Its not just about owning it, its about how it has to be stored, how its allowed to be transported, if you should be allowed to conceal it or not. They are all issues that need to be considered. It doesn't take a red neck long to think they are being abused so they decide to pull their legally concealed gun out and shoot someone in "self defense". Until that point they were legal, sane, of age and no criminal back ground. Give me a break.

Ben I suggest you study Australian firearms laws before posting outright lies there is no total ban of semi-automatic weapons in Australia. Semi-Auto rifles and shotguns are restricted to primary producers, security industry, professional shooters etc. , to own a semi-auto pistol all you need is an appropriate firearm license. All the ferals and hippies rave about the gun laws in this country for the last ten years but funnily in that time the number of licensed shooters and firearms in Australia has increased dramatically. :)

That is about 1/4th of them. Both my wife and I grew up hunting and around guns. Got some hand-me-downs, some I bought, some I won, etc.

That’s quite a few more than I have. I just have 3 at the moment, a 9mm Glock, M44 Spanish Air Force Mauser, and a repro Kentucky flintlock rifle. Should be adding a 12g over and under to that by the end of the year.

Love my Glock 9mil. Wife gave it to me as a gift. Also got a Ruger 9mil that you can see in the pic. More then a few 20g and 12g, 30-06, .270, 10-22’s, .223, 7.62mm, etc.
