buying a ute - ford or toyota

Fellow Golfers, need some advise as i am in the market for a used ute. Has to be auto as wifey cant drive manual :(
Tossing up between ford or toyota 2wd. I’M NOT A HOLDEN FAN
Any ford owners (past or present) that can comment on their exprience with this make of utes.
At the moment Toyota is my preferred based on being a past owner of their cars.

Only God can judge me!

 

the ford 6 is bullet proof and with live axle can tow a decent load,i think 750kg with standard susp and 1 tonne with upgraded suspention.
as for toyota not really sure but you do see a lot of tradies with both for obvious reasons.

Unless you are spending a squillion on the new Rangers, Tupac, I think the Toyotas are best for the buck.

hilux, even the old ones are bullet proof. a little on the expensive side but retain their value!!

 

I’m on my 3rd Hilux ute in a row (although 4×4’s.) over a 30 year period. Can’t kill em – very reliable and trouble free.

Another one here for Hi Lux. Mine has 300,000 on the clock & still going strong.
