I believe, I believe, in what she says
Have you come here to play Jesus, with the leopards in your head |

Researchers research and make discoveries that change medical conditions every day with funding…............. Researchers without funding are about as much use as tits on a bull…....... Have a look at the work Ita has done in leading the Alzheimer’s and Dementia fight then reconsider as to why she has won the award. If still in doubt have a look at this http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/...…. not the address at the National Press Club but it will give you some idea…...... I watch my father and his best mate, both of whom have no real idea of what’s going on and hope that by the time I get to their station in life the medical researchers have come up with something that might stop the ravages of dementia. Old man was a Bank Manager and his best mate was a Doctor and qualified Surgeon. That is why Ita got the gong and hopefully it leads to more money in the research field in this area. If you are still in doubt try and get a loved one into a dementia unit …....................

I have no doubt Ita does great fundraising and awareness- which helps when you have a profile of sorts. My thing is that I am sure there are others without a profile who have done as much as Ita but there aren’t deemed ‘sexy’ enough to get the gong. As long as it doesn’t go to a sportsman, then I am all fine with it though- unless of course it is Brendan Fevola for all the awareness he has raised for gambling and alcohol addictions.

but I’d probaly hold my fork all wrong…....... enough of the Chisel memorabilia, all said and done, I like Ita, but seeing Asher Keddie play Ita, well now I would bone Asher…....with or without the lisp…......

And on that note …......... I think one thing about the award …... is that it appears to have no set “criteria” that is known by the public at large, hence the many raised eyebrows that occur from time to time. On the one hand you have the likes of Fred Hollows, Fiona Stanley, Fiona Wood, and Ian Frazer, all extremely worthy recipients who have done a lot for their country and it’s people.. And then you have ” The Others” ..........where you just sit back and go WFT?? Head of the WFT list has to be John Farnham, closely followed in no particular order by Mandawuy Yunupingu, Geoffrey Rush, Lee Kernaghan, Pat Rafter, Captain Grumpy (and every Cricket Captain that came after him) .Paul Hogan, Kat Cottee, Robert de Castella, etc, etc. I reckon they either set a decent criteria (eg, you’ve got to have hit a hundred in a Boxing Day test match, or saved some lives) ......... or just scrap it, as the thing is a farce at least once every two years.
