Beautiful!
Wonder if its a real RT or a mock up?
I had a CL Charger as my daily driver for a few years.
Absolutely loved it unfortunately she rusted badly in the boot and plenum and I had to get rid of her.
Had neither the time, money or know how to fix her up

Canyonero :-)

“If God didn’t want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?”

Owned an E38 Bathurst Charger, for a couple of years, as stated above ORSM car,
Also owned a genuine Phase1 GTHO (sigh, wish I still did)
And an ex Sth Auz Nullabore Copcar XC. unbelievable top speed.
And a XB GT Coupe (rust bucket)

Current toy is a FG G6E Turbo, I don’t believe that any of the above could keep up with this. But they were so much more fun to drive, the noise that used to come out of a 351 was thunderous.Loved it!

The joy of being older, I owned pieces of Auzzie folklaw, if only I had known what they would be worth in the future.

LOFT. the real reason why my handicap is where it is!
Don’t know about LOFT I’ve got the IBF’s

blasphemy

CL’s are really considered very collectable anyway Mick.
The money I would have had to spend on it just wouldn’t have been worth it.

Here’s a pic in her glory days though

If you lifted the carpet in the boot, you were looking at the road!
You could have put your fist through the holes.
There were also massive holes around the sills front and rear.

The good news is she was sold to someone who wanted to do the work required.
I got a good seven years of daily driving pleasure from her and that was good enough for me.

Had a mate with one, he fitted a 36 gallon tank, it fell out in the servo as he was trying to fill it up.
My E38 used to lift the front left wheel so badly that passenger front floor flexed. Traction was always a problem in a charger.

Sadly …....... it appears that only Razaar and myself have so far, grasped the pointy end of this thread.

While others have gone on about the hulking old rust buckets that they “used to own” ....... back when petrol came in gallons, and seat belts were optional …....... Razaar and myself have looked to the modern day in our choice of “dream car”.

Has there ever been a car, or will there ever be another to match the Veyron?

As Jeremy Clarkson so astutely observed …...... “A Bugatti Veyron is quite the most stunning piece of automotive engineering ever created….At a stroke then, the Veyron has rendered everything I’ve ever said about any other car obsolete. It’s rewritten the rule book, moved the goalposts and in the process, given Mother Nature a bloody nose.”

There is the 16.4, Veyron Grand Sport, Super Sport or Vitesse, which model and what color?

Sorry GPJ, I think the “pointy end” of the thread is a bunch of (us) old blokes reminiscing about some classic cars that anyone could afford. And…..ANYONE could pull them apart, fix what was wrong and then make it go again. How much did you say the Bugatti was? :-)

Exactly, when cars had character, now they all look exactly the same. When petrol was $1 a gallon (22c/litre) You could floor the 5.2 litre V8 Charger and watch the petrol guage go down. You could adjust the carburettor with a screwdriver, the good old days..
