It seems today that every time there is a break in play the reporters latch onto whoever is closest and ask them the most benign questions. Surely this interrupts the players concentration and then the player has to regroup and refocus their attention on their game. I think it’s intrusive.

Agree, personally I’m not a fan but apparently most or lots of viewers like it. You get nothing of substance which is perfectly understandable and the only thing i get out of it is how quickly the interviewee wants to tell the interviewer to hurry TFU so he can get out of there. TBH even post and pre game interviews are watered down rubbish, the threat of fines and sanctions for speaking out of line make for boring pre meditated press conferences

Agree with the OP. I’d hate to be on a hot streak & have some back slapping journo stick his microphone in my face mid-round.

Should stick the mike where the monkey stuffed his nuts. Comentators are far to intrusive.
