We all get bombarded by acts of meaningless violence on a daily basis. However, the loss of this man seems particularly tragic to me.By all accounts he was exactly the type of person we would all like to have in our Police Forces.Someone who actually cared about people and was prepared to “go the extra mile” to do the right thing. Now he’s lost, due to the senseless act of someone who killed a man who was worth a thousand of himself.

You’re so right Simon. Bryson was everything that is being reported about him and more. R.I.P. mate.

The scum bag will turn up in court in his new suit, blame a bad childhood and get a slap on the wrist. It’s about time mandatory full life term in jail is given for this. We know not all police are saints but how many of us could cope with their daily existence. Police do a very difficult job and our Polititians don’t help with all the political correctness crap. I know in my youth dissrespectful to a policeman was a stupid act, retribution was a smack on the head, not always a good idea but you certainly thought twice before messing with them again. Today’s youth have no respect for them and our courts don’t help. I second simonsez no one deserves to be treated this way. No one deserves to go to work and never go home to their family.

Well said Simon. The NSW Police Force lost a comrade and a mate. The community of NSW lost a valued protector. The thin blue line is a little thinner. However, The Anderson family have lost so much more. A devoted father of 3 kids, a loving husband, a brother, a son. NSW Police Legacy is an organisation that is devoted to ensuring that no partner or child of a fallen officer will ever feel forgotten or in need. Police Legacy have set up a Bryson Anderson Memorial Fund where donations can be made to Support the Anderson family. The details for making donations can be found by clicking here – http://www.policelegacynsw.... Rest in Peace Detective Inspector Bryson Anderson. You will be missed.

...and you would know more than most, Commish. The scumbags that did it aren’t even showing an ounce of remorse apparently. The mother has even been declared a danger to the community! People like this need to be weeded out and….well I’ll leave it to your own imagination. R.I.P. Officer Anderson :(

Thanks for the link Coverdriver. I’ve done as you suggested and have made a useful donation to his fund. Let’s hope that others (who can) will choose to do the same. Not posting for myself, just making a suggestion to those who could possibly help.

Terrible tragedy. I heard a pair of young men walk past my house today discussing this topic and the attitude they showed towards this tragic incident shows why we will always need brave men and women who become police officers, soldiers, anyone who protects us.

Think you will find a mandatory life sentence for this type of crime is already in place in NSW . Just has to be found guilty and go through the appeal process .

I did not know the man but I knew his job- I have lost mates-through senseless violence or through the dreaded black dog that follows you after dealing with such repeated acts. My heart goes out to his family as it does to others who have suffered. RIP Bryson Anderson

I can’t really tell you how I feel at the moment Schmuck having lost a friend and colleague. But this 19 yo ass wipe will have a longer life than Brys. I could say I hope it is spent in hell, but that would be wrong. Every life is precious even his, but I like others, including his wonderful wife and children would like to now WHY?????

Scooby, believe me I know where you are coming from. Have been through this a couple of times now (unfortunately) and what you say is correct in the most. But the simple fact is that all the victims family want to know is “Why did you do what you did?” A lot of times there is no answer, but it certainly helps if there is some form of explanation, even if it is, ” I don’t know, I was off my head on ? I won’t know until Monday. but I would suggest that is the case here. Tol… thanks for the words mate. Some times you want to rip someones head off, but in the end does that make you any better than them. Would probably give you a sense of satisfaction at the time, but reality would eventually kick in. Hard to say until you are placed in the situation I suppose. I have often thought that the best sentence for a murderer would be to have 5 minutes alone with the family of the victim. Whatever happened during and as a result of that 5 mins was the sentence.

It is now mandatory “life” in NSW. I can assure you, there will be hell to pay if that is not the case.

I’m sure a lot of people have said that Commish, I have said it myself. I’d vote for it. Had other friends that used to be coppers, some stories I heard about how the bad guy “fell down” whilst he was walking around the lockup…gee how unlucky. That prick and his whore of a mother were lucky there was media around when they were arrested I reckon. The temptation must have been overwhelming to the arresting officers.

My sympathies to Inspector Anderson, and to his wife and children. And to The Inspector, I commend him on his actions and his bravery to stand up for what he believed. To the defendants in the matter, I hope they get what they deserve.

You’re probably right Scoob. One would like to think that the judiciary actually give a shit and would take what the govt has stipulated as what is required. I suppose if they spelt it out that “Life” means “Life” ie,,,,, never to be released, dies in a hole, is ass fucked for the rest of their natural life, that would suffice. But you’re right, “Life” will probably mean, 25 with a non parole of 17. He’ll be walking down the street one day at 36 when a bus will accidently run out of control and ????

Sorry commish we are probably fighting for the same thing but when i see blokes getting cut down and sadly i have had my fair share i get the shits when the judiciary doesnt do the right thing by the guys who are fighting the good fight . tjf but i dont have to do it anymore

I know the emotion is fairly high atm but what are you suggesting? What is “doing the right thing”? That the judiciary become biased generally to police? Think about what outcome that would produce …
