I suppose this is as good a place as any to talk about golf…lounge….pfft.

So 18 at Ringwood today. Short course, and not terribly difficult.

Although for the first 6 holes I made it look a whole lot more difficult than it should.

Then on 7 – 14, I went 3 over, 5 pars, 3 bogies, and hit 2 of the best approach shots on holes 11 and 14 that I have ever hit. Flushed a 7 iron into the wind on 11 to about 12 feet, missed the birdie by about 3 inches.

Flushed an 8 for my 3rd shot on the longer par 4 14th to about 15 feet, and sunk the par putt.

I was swinging way too fast early, but not following through on the swing – so there was no distance and pushing everything to the right.

It was social – but would have had 36 points, after starting terribly (doubles, triple ARRRGGGHHHHH).

Anyway – the thing that pleased me was that after feeling like walking off after about 4 holes, I actually thought a bit more about what was not working, and seemed to do the right things to FIX it! Slowed the swing down, and made sure that the swing didn’t stop at the point of contact, but actually swung through the ball and had a real follow through.

So, in the end a day that was a good reinfroecement of the game plan as well (3 wood off the tee where I think the driver offers no advantage, and could get me into trouble).

There you have it campers – my first game related post. And possibly my last.

Ed will be back tomorrow.

Just as well the sun didn’t come up this morning either.
