just wanted to know if there are any civil drafters or people in the industry that visit these forums. seeking some career advice.

i’m finishing my cert 3 in cad soon and wondering how do i get a job when most of them advertised on seek/career one all require at least 2 yrs experience. Are there any other sites i should be looking at besides those two?

Check with your local councils, I know here in western australia local government has a hard time getting technical staff on account of the packages being lower than the commercial sector. Lower wages but a good place to get experience.

Also, consider changing ‘drafters’ in the thread title to ‘civil engineers’.

correct me if i am wrong but from my understanding the engineers design and a drafter draw the design on the computer.

You could be right but you are more likely to get the right people checking you post with the change, just my thoughts and I could be mistaken.
