Looks quite good but…

will Vic courses be added anytime?

It looks good but personally i would prefer time and date drop down boxes on the search results page rather than just a forward link for the next hour. also the number of players option in kind of redundant on the Tee times online initial search

Can it be used to book into your own club, say for a comp, where all you would pay is comp fees?

Danz: Thanks. Vic coming soon as we said in the main teetimes thread.

Sonab: They are there – Click on “Change your search” just above the results table for a full view to change your search options.

With regards to the player numbers – we can’t read your mind so have no idea what time your are going to pick. The player number in the search makes sure you only get back results with enough slots left for that time. It is up to you to choose that time that suits you. We can’t randomly put a player number beside a time.

MrConsistency: The software can do that and is installed in around 300 clubs in Australia. We are only doing the public side for various reasons. Any club with MicroPower software can provide a member-based booking system on the own website and that will allow you to book into comps. Many clubs do this already.

Admin – trying to purchase a tee time at Hunter Valley G&C for tomorrow. Each time I go into ‘Buy Now’ it comes up with a square insert with a message of ‘The following errors occurred’, but there is nothing there except an OK button. Hit that and it returns to the previous screeen.

Am I doing something wrong or is this piece of sh*t computer I am using lacking something in software.

Alternate is, have I just purchased three postions (only want one) at a time slot without having to pay for it on line and I pay at the course?

Hi davego – It’s all working fine at this end – just tried it myself for that club plus we’ve had plenty fo bookings going through today.

Their server was down earlier today for about 30 minutes – when did you try the booking?

What time, date, players, carts etc are you trying to book?

You definitely haven’t been charged or booked anything.

If you continue having problems pls call us on 1300 663 813.

Sorry for any problems you’ve had – hopefully we can get it sorted quickly for you.

Thanks for the prompt reply Admin. I was trying to book 1 player for 1.18pm tomorrow 13/6/08. attempts were abuot 1.15pm today. I will give it another go and see what happens, otherwise I’ll just ring. It’s probably this bloody 2004 piece of junk sitting on my desk. Takes up to 10 mins for some of the downloads on this site. Time to upgrade me thinks.

Thanks again.
Davego.

Yeh that all works fine here now – perhaps there was a connection problem with HV but there’s nothing in our system about it.

Pls let us know how you go.

Hi Admin, got sick of trying on Thursday so just rocked up on Friday and played anyway. Tried ringing your 1300 number but went to message bank and I was heading off to a meeting and not back in the office at days end, so didn’t leave a message.

I think the problem may be a few of the internet filters that are in place on this heap of junk. (work computer, so can’t complain too loudly)

Thanks again for your efforts.

not that I expect to win, just curious

Admin – teetimes link on the side of pages (named clubs) brings up “something gone awry” – teetimes link on top of pages is fine…

Hey Admin
Not wanting to be a pest – did you post the winner?
Dave

Hi polar – Just waiting on the note back from the winner. We’ve now picked two winners with no word back in the time. Once they have contacted us back we then post the winner on the site.

Thx

But I didn’t receive anything from you saying I had won.

Just kidding

Hi Admin,

A suggestion re the online tee times (which are great and I use regularly).

We played yesterday at a course where the greens had just been cored. I realise now why there was such a good discount with the online tee time – but is there any way of indicating “adverse course conditions” or the like on the booking form?

It makes a big difference to whether I’m keen to play a course, if I know that the greens have just been cored – irrespective of price.

Don’t take this as a negative, more a suggestion – the online tee times have given my family and I many enjoyable rounds of golf at great prices and we’ll definitely continue to use the facility.

Cheers
St Hubbins

Hi StH – Yes that’s something we would like too but it isn’t possible at the moment for two reasons.

a) The clubs tend not even let us know about this information which is the main hurdle eg they go ahead and core and the first thing we hear about it is when we get a call from a customer.

b) If it’s not entered by the club at their end we can’t read and display that information at our end

100% agree it is needed and with coring season in full swing it has caused some issues which will definitely be sorted out over the next month or two.

The same system will be used to display value-add info like 10% off in the proshop etc so it something we are working on now.

Appreciate the feedback and glad to hear you enjoy using the system.

Thanks for the reply, Admin – I appreciate your position on this and look forward to continued development of the excellent online tee times system.

St Hubbins

Found this thread as I was looking to provide similar feedback to st_hubbins.

The “cored greens” issue is a real downside for another wise great system. As someone who does visit a lot of these clubs (in SEQ) several times a year, I find it happens far too frequently. To the point were I won’t book online anymore, I insist on calling the club to confirm my suspicions about why their prices are so cheap.!

Even when just visiting a neighbouring club for a change, rather than taking a tee time deal for a game, I find you can still get caught out if you don’t ask the question.

Happened at Carbrook last time we played there, and they did not tell us or even discount the green fees!, lesson learnt an won’t be going back there in a hurry!

I know Admin are aware of the issue, just wanted to further highlight how frequently it is occurring.

I struggle with how our game is so deeply based on etiquette, ethics and honestly, yet a lot of its managers do not seem to have the faintness idea about any of these concepts.

In terms of current offers, what’s the bet Gainsborough Greens has just cored their greens!!

Cheers

Dave

We agree 1000% Daves – it is frustrating for us as it causes lots of problems and aggravation and it is certainly frustrating for golfers turning up to play what they think is a playable course.

Some pros seem to think it is better not to tell people because they will lose the business but in the end just burn the customer altogether and they won’t return again.

GG do not have any coring on AFAIK – they’re just using the teetimes system how it should be used which is to discount quiet days rather than have no-one at all.
