Hello ISG ppl, look I’m not one to complain often, but if I had wanted to have a word with you bunch in private, how would I go about it on here? I’m sure I’m not alone in my thinking, that you would like these forums to be filled with nothing but good advice, pointed debate and great stories. When we come across another taking posts beyond intelligent banter, into crass knob or snob behaviour, how can we report it? I just don’t see how you lot could have the time to read all the posts on here. Thanks in advance, Flipper.

Stupidest thread I have ever seen. Why don’t you just send the admin an email if you want to complain. Isn’t it obvious?

We lost a lot of forum heavyweights when they changed over to this new site. If you were a knob (most of us are guilty at some time) or spammer like some of the new comers they would put you in your place quick smart, acting like a moderator in a sense. Now we don’t even have forum members keeping anyone in check, it’s a free for all of insults and spamming!

Come on admin! Give us some moderators, this site is going down hill so fast even I might leave (nah! I’ll be here no matter how crap it gets). :-D

I think the new forum is excellent and works just fine.

I just wonder, do the sponsors of this site actually read what goes on here? They are paying for all of this after all.

Where are the rules and regulations to this site, does anyone have a link to them? I even went to the signup page to look and there is nothing, does this mean I can do and say what I want here.

If that is the case I wouldn’t advertise here because you may been seen to condone and even promote these actions/views (that’s what moderators are for, to cull the crap and reduce risk of litigation).

What is even more alarming (to me), if you do searches to old discussions, the deleted posts show, so you can view some really nasty stuff (another thing admin need to check).

But like I said – opinions are like assholes… ;-P

SMS may have fired a few random lines around, but he adds a little colour to what has become a morgue. But I’d prefer to read his random vitriol laden sprays than 100 newbies asking stupid questions because they are too lazy to search (or perhaps the search still doesn’t work properly)

The admins are well aware that they have killed the ISG forums – there were what 5 registered users on last night where in the past you would have had 50-100

Shame, because they were close on the most entertaining golf and social forums on the web.

Breet we look at every single post that goes up, we can alot of them before you even see them, we miss some but get to them quickly.

This si the first we have heard about it from you – so if you want to help then email us with the link and we will take care of it. We have more moderators now than we did before and check the posts more heavily than we did before.

So send through the links you think are spammy and we’ll get them sorted very quickly.

As for insults – there were far far more on the old forum then there has been here in the last couple of months.

sms is a twit, and you know it. He’s the kind of person I’m genuinely ashamed to share a sport with. If I wanted mindless name calling, I check on Idol or some other reality tv show forum, they’ve got that stuff in spades. Seriously folks, you wouldn’t want him in your 4 would you? I wouldn’t describe any of the lost members as “Dead wood” They are alive and kicking on strong, elsewhere.

I doubt that. Why would they leave here? It’s great!!!!

All the other Oz golf forums I’ve found are tiny in comparison to this one… am I missing something?

Muntz Iseek had a major change in the site and forums coming together in one place and the forum lost a few bells and whistles which are in the slow processes of being added back. Many had multiple handles and the consolidation did cause issues with people getting back into the forums but that is now sorted it would seem.

Some people just do not like change and its a free world out there to move elsewhere. Heavyweights? Lots of posts but not a lot of substance from many of them. As for the ‘moderator’ influence some of the so called heavyweights had, it put off many many readers from posting as they would read thread and not post because of the weight of crap that then fell from the ether.

Since their change of forum, there are a heap of new names posting and many more reading the forums right off the main page as it is more accessible. Seems there were a lot of forum members who did not even know there was a main site area in the past.

Progress has speed bumps. ISG had a heap in it for golfers of all sorts. Life gets better each week it seems:)

Sorry ISG Guru, but the best content on the forums was Tony T’s course reviews, photos and critical analysis of design and layouts of some of Australias best courses.

You could almost feel as if you had played the courses through his reviews.

Since you lost him, the course reviews and content is non-existant. A true shame…

Yeh it’s shame but of course we do have 4000 course reviews on the site. Look outside of the forums and you’ll find a wealth of content including reviews that TT did for the site

Yes and then some of the posters who had enough of these ‘heavyweights’ would tell them what’s what and get banned while the problem continued merrily along.
