True. If our negative comments have to wait until the rollout is complete, surely any positive reinforcement should also be restricted till then.

When do we get sigs and in the bag info?

Sigs and bag info will be another week or so…..had to clear up the database first, get rid of all the double up accounts and launch profiles.

HI Fishman – yes we’ve cleaned up the whole database of users and trying to do the same cleanup on display names. We’re sticking to much cleaner usernames now eg no spaces and some special characters – fishman_dan will work

I hope you can play that guitar, because I’m beginning to believe what people are saying about the inability to run a forum.

I remember when you didn’t use spaces as a rule of thumb on the internet, I thought those days were over…

There’s nothing retarded about it – Yahoo and YouTube both do exactly the same thing as well as a zillion other websites. Sorry for the changes but they are needed and will help keep things on track. We have 342 members with spaces in their names and 71,246 who don’t.

And yes I can play it…...

The point being here that every change seems to be about the running of the website, and very little of these improvements have made things easier for the people that keep coming back. Guys – I’ve stuck by your fellers for the duration now and look forward to a finished product. But the time has come to make this little less about you, and more about us.

When I see 71000+ users posting here frequently, I’ll rethink my rant.

Fishman – No matter what we do someone will have a problem with it mate. That’s just the way it is and we accept that.

Flickr changed their whole login process and all hell broke loose for three months – people leaving, complaining bitterly, demanding their money back all because they were forced to sign up with a Yahoo username that took a minute of their time but there were valid reasons and it had to be done.

No-one wants to cause their visitors problems but sometimes it has to happen and this is part of making things better in the long term. We’ve had seven years of signups and three forums etc etc and the database needed to be bought back inline.

Again sorry for the changes but they are for the best….and we do think about our members otherwise we may as well pack up and go home.

I’ve only just discovered ISG (living where I do news travels slowly). What a great site, just love it. I’m surprised that admin allows some of the rather off banter between some users. If someone disagrees with what you say garbage as a reply is a bit off putting. But, who am I to comment? I’m a newby. Great site, be even better when PMs are up and running.
