Hey admin, was just wondering if it was possible, when you quote someone, for it to say who you were quoting and perhaps the time and date of their post. It really helps when you quote something in a long thread that is a few pages back.

OK sorry bout that, power went to my head a little. Hopefully someone will chime in with a website but I cant remember what format it is in so I can’t google it.

All I noes is:

_ On both sides makes it into Italics

An asterisk (SHIFT + 8) On both sides makes it bold

^ On both sides makes it go small and sit high (superscript?)

- On both sides strikes it out

Quoting is done just by clicking the ‘Quote’ button under the posters name. If you only want a part of the post just delete what you dont want, just make sure you leave everything inside these ‘<’ and ‘>’ around both blockquotes.

If you want to add a second or third quote copy and paste the ‘blockquotes’ at the start and end of your first quote and copy the new quote in between them.

how do you only quote part of a message, rather than all of it. also how do you do multiple quotes in one post

The whole quoting thing could do with a major improvement. And easier text styling wouldn’t hurt either.

Yea, perhaps after you hit quote, you can highlight what you want to quote or something.

Yes as per another thread we are looking at big improvements with many areas of the forum. Thanks for the feedback – quoting and text input/styling will be part of some upcoming changes.
