I’d like to see the current layout revamped – try and make it a more interactive system. Seems cumbersome at the moment and underdone.

An index system would be good, listing all products under particular categories and/or brands rather than relying on the search function. Like the way the Course Directory is set up.

It’d also be nice to include things other than clubs and balls. How about some reviews on buggies, bags, gloves and shoes? Maybe allow ISG members to submit product reviews and you guys approve/reject them? Specify a layout for the title, description and photo and we submit them. A good way to get more products listed and hopefully more user reviews.

I am sure all the above will get a good look over at some point in time once the list of updates gets worked through.

A while back we did some panel testing and came up with a ripper format that most OEMs rather liked for the clubs. Unfortunately the time take to do it all was the killer for us.

Hang loose as it’s nice to hear the interest out there to get these things done.

Just seeing the photos of a few golf courses means the course review areas might well get the same sort of revamp to be able to throw a photo or two up in there as well.

Hi divot – Yes it is underdone – totally agreed.

We launched the new site at the time (9 months ago) and moved on to teetimes development straight away. Now that is launched we will be improving many areas of the site including the golf equipment.

• The indexes will be the first things fixed eg pages for each category as per the course areas.

• Other items such as bags, gloves, buggies have long been on the agenda – just difficult to get consistent pics and data from the OEM’s for these. But it will happen – shafts and even sunglasses are on the agenda.

• As the site is database driven we can’t really specify a layout as such for new reviews as there’s all sorts of things happening in the background to present the page as is.

We could certainly provide a way for a user to add in products we have yet to add to the database and then we manually add that data in to the system if it’s a new OEM or category.

As it stands there’s 5000 items in the system so hopefuly we’ve covered a fair amount of what’s out there but there is a long way to go in some areas.

Guru, what about asking members to submit pics for their local course? Over time I know I could get you a few. Multiply that by the number of active members and you’ve got yourself a good selection. The photo thread now is a good idea, but many of us don’t play on such picturesque courses so our pics would be out of place in there!

I think the local colour golf courses will be great to have up. Hang for 55 and who knows what might become available down the track to make the Course Review areas more fun to visit on the site.
