Yep getting there….had to knock this out first and we’re changing the layout a bit too so that will come all at once.

Nice work…much better than the posts all being listed.

Admin and I have been using it a lot lately and is working well.

Anyone who regularly uses these forums should bookmark it.

You have to be logged in to use it, will redirect you to the main page if you aren’t.

1. Go to the ”Edit my profile” link in the top right area of the page (where is says how many posts you have made etc..).

2. Scroll down the Edit my profile page till you see the bit about your avatar (last thing on the page). Then hit the browse button. This will open a lil box thing that shows the files on your computer.

3. Find the location of the photo you wanna select and then click on it and hit ”Open”. Wait till it uploads to the website, and hey presto.

whenever i get more than 1 page of results on the latest posts page I go to the 2nd page and it says all topics have been marked as read. Not sure if this is a common problem or not, but it is happening to me.

So, you click on the page 2 link and it says, up the top, “X topics marked as read” am I understanding you properly?

Where there is more than one page of topics there should be two buttons, “Mark All Read” and “Mark this page read”. If you click the “mark this page” button it’ll mark all the topics on that page as read and will reload and show you the rest of the topics you haven’t read yet.

There is something quirky going on with the latest posts as soon as it gets over 1 page long.

I get the feeling that it is to do with how I view the pages. I go through the list and open each topic I want to look at in a new tab, leaving the main latest posts tab open.

When I go to the 2nd page I think all of the posts I have opened in new tabs are marked as read so the list is shorter and some get missed in the cross over.

e.g.
1. If there are 25 threads per page (not sure how many there are, but wanted to give example) on the latest list and there are 30 unread threads if I open up 10 threads in new tabs, when I go to page 2 it tells me “X topics marked as read”.

2. If there are 40 unread threads and I open 10 up on the first page then when I go to page 2 it only shows 5 threads. However when I go back to the first page there are 10 threads there that weren’t there before that have obviously moved up the list due to me opening the other threads up in new tabs.

Hope that explains a bit about what I see happening.

You are right, as soon as you view a thread, even in a new tab it’s marked as read. Therefore if there was, say, only 2 threads on page 2 and you opened 5 off the first page in new tabs then clicked to the second page it’d probably wig out.

Will have a think about what we can do about it, but I actually suffer the same issue as i’m a middle button, tab clicker too.

“Latest posts” page is clearly not working.

It’s reverted to listing every post (22+ pages), regardless of whether I’ve previously marked it as read. It’s also not doing anything when I click “Mark all as Read”.

Okay all fixed.

Sorry guys – you will need to “Mark All As Read” and start again.

We had a bit of a code change and needed to restart the Latest posts so sorry for any inconvenience caused.
