This is my 1000th post and in honour of such an event I thought I would just wish my boys well for this weekends grand final. Go you good things!!

Congrats HCWT, 1000 pure gems. I also believe Storm are a good thing. They seem to have Manly summed up. Hasler will have his boys come out at 100 mph, rip, tear, bust, damage. Bellamy has seen these tactics work against him in the past, I’m sure he will have something special planned for the day.

Definately will be a brutal “softening up period” at start of game. Crocker has a couple of paybacks due especially with the god fearing Kite and Perry. I think he’ll have a bit of assistance there – the 1st try to us should see it settle to a good hard game….I’m glad we have Bellamy as head coach – very clever man! Hasler’s no slouch either…!

HCWT, Nice work on the 1000. Not sure if I can sustain my dribble beyond 300 I am so nervous about Sunday, have thought we will win easily, then I switch to thinking about last year and get worried all over again. Betting should be 1.90/1.90 Couple of things stand out in Manlys favour :

the star either side of a word/sentence gives you bold... shift line either side gives you italics : Do the smile without the nose and it should be okay…

actually Malvern star, I thought it was a nice bit of a freudian slip of sorts with your Post. Crossing out the points as you raised them. Perhaps it showed what was going thru your head. I actually think Manly will win. I think the loss of Smith will be felt more against manly than it was V Cronulla and I think Lyons current form is a major factor when compared to last year. I hope that Crocker can avoid getting sent off . Remember , this is his last NRL game. No fear of suspensions. He could go right off. Memories of Danny Williams!! Anyone know who the victim of Perry’s “indiscretions” was?? In the media it has been saying that Perry had upset “someone close to the storm family” in a recent off-field indiscretion. They want to square up for it. Or is it all just talk to take their mind off the game. I can see the ref slightly favouring Manly due to Melbournes recent comments – even if unintentionally.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you may be righ,. Have Clubs. My heart says Storm but my head is going with Manly. Should be a good game either way.

17th green at The Willows. 185 m off the blue tees. All carry if the flag is at the back. IMHO the best hole on the course.

I had one game there in January 1984. I think the course was fairly new. The greens were like rock but fairly sparsely covered. Went on a cruise on the Fairstar with 3 mates and the mates hooked up with some Townsville girls. When we got back they decided they “just had to” drive up and see them. I went for the ride. We left a party in sydney at 10pm and drove north. Apart from fuel and food we drove till we made mackay at about midnight the following day. Slept the night then drove thru to townsville the next day . Had a week or so there partying pretty hard. I remember we hired a cart at Townsville GC and played 18. When we went back a couple of days alter we hired another and the pro said “don’ttry and drive across the bridge ( one over a gully near the club house) as the cart doesn’t fit”. We just looked coyly at each other. We had driven across it 2 days before and it fitted OK!! That was my experience of townsville

I don’t believe you wrote that – I had to re-read it – I understand the non Storm (jump on the band wagon types) thinking Manly may win, but a supporter….!!!! If the dream is big enough the facts don’t count Our dream is huge and we want this one like we need oxygen… We’ll win, no doubt – by how much, well that’s the big question! Go Storm!

i’m a realist ditty. I will be cheering the house down for the storm, throwing cushions at the TV if manly happens to score or the ref makes a bad decision, but if i have to give an honest opinion I think Manly will win. But as I said previously – I thought brisbane would beat us, i thought Sharks would beat us – i’m just not wanting to break the chain here. I should go an put $50 on Manly. With the weight of my money on their back they couldn’t possibly win. I could get Federer to lose to John Newcombe If i backed him.

HCWT, any further word on the Perry stuff? Doubts are creeping in on both sides, its that close. Chucking it down in Sydney this morning, and thunder “storms” predicted tomorrow, got no idea who that favours if any. Medal day in the rain for me

No Treadly. I’ve heard nothing more Beuatiful blazing sunshine here on the mid northcoast. Already 19 degrees at 7am. Medal day for us today as well. Hang on while i finish putting my sunscreen on. Boy I wish i lived in sydney NOT!!

The course has changed A little bit since then Have Clubs. About half the farways & greens have been changed or repositioned& the place is much greener. No rain up here at the moment but is looking like it may try a little later on.

Hey Pom – no need for apologies old mate…. as you say, time will tell! Willows used to have a million bunkers way back – I heard they got rid of a few hundred and made the course more user friendly to members and visitors – was getting a name!

The original count was about 157 I believe. Doesn,t sound a lot when compared with some resort courses ( Northlakes for one) with thier nests of fairway bunkers but when you consider that most ot these bunkers were extremely large & like concrete in the bottom it was pretty stupid design.

Good luck with the day mate – I have my grandson here for a week so now he’s kitted out with new clubs and stand bag and it’s lesson time…lol At Northlakes yesterday having a hoit on the range then I grabbed a cart and found a couple of quiet holes and let him lose a few balls… today we’ll go to the big easy driving range and then to vic park to get him booted up…. Agree re Northlakes – I mean it’s hard enough with no parallel fairways to hit onto – the bunkers are just at driving distance – very hard to maintain your handicap if you’re having one of those shockers…lol

I resemble that statement, I’M a Manley, they aren’t…. they are Manly…. lol…. gotta love footy even if the real teams aren’t in the GF… And congrats on the 1000 posts HC….
