Clearly M.Clarke attended the team meeting that he “sacked” Symonds for so publicly.

MC – “we are playing a shite side, wander down the pitch, have a big swing, fall over and be stumped” Dont worry about scoring runs, make sure your hair looks good and someone else will take care of the rest.

If he’s the next captain of my side, I’m off over the Tasman

hey no diss’n the golden boy,
can’t you hear the angels the moment he appears, or the sparkle of his teeth when he smiles?
the fact that he can do no wrong should be enough for you.
he is clearly second only to Bradman in ability

Your rite on the money there malvernstar. this bloke is a joke and if he is the next oz captain then this country’s cricket is f’d.

Who would you prefer?

i’d give my left nut to be able to bat like either symo or clarke.

Lol by the end of the week everybody in the Aussie side will have their own thread! Let cricket be cricket, I would love to be able to bat like clarkey too. I respect him because he is a great batsman, what hairstyle he sports is entirely up to him.

I respect his cricketing ability. I find the way cricket Australia brought him on grooming him, ( thier words not mine) for the captaincy, right from the start. Nevcer mind what the other players were thinking. I get the feelig that there is a little bad feeling amongst a couple of the senior players & our Mr Clark. He may make a good Captain, I just think Cricket Australia could have handled it better

I’d prefer M Hussey as captain over Clarke

Hussey would be a good captain but he’s 35, you can see where the logic for someone like Clarke for captain comes from.

Hussey just turned 33, born 1975, assuming he plays till 2011 (or longer) why can’t he be captain. Cricketers are fitter than they ever have been and are playing longer.

And you know that huss won’t retire till he gets kicked out.

Bring back Gilchrist!

Would it be more beneficial to have a new captain appointed for a few years then changing again or develop a younger player like Clarke who has the potential to be captain for ten or more years.

Leigh dog
you are prob correct, I have pretty low care factor.
Losing the ashes to england was one of my sporting highlights tho..

captain for 10 years leighdog!! god help cricket in this country if that pissant was captain for 10 years ….it would never find its way back.

I can’t see Clark playing until he is 37…... then again what else would he be good for?

crikey…The Offsman is impressed with Clarke, M.

IMHO….he is yet to prove himself as being able to hold his spot in the test side let alone be captain material.

If he wasnt so worried about his looks or his hair, or his missus flashing her boobs for new idea, then he might be a better cricketer.
Bit like Michael Bevan who wouldve been a great cricketer if he hadve stayed out of the gym and practised his hook shots.

Although granted I do admire Clarke for not taking the cash of IPL.

who ate all the pies?

If I was one of you Aussies (but I’m not), I wouldn’t be stressing too much…. The good old Punter will be around for a good while yet.
Anyway Hussey was one suggestion, who else have ya’s got to do the job ?

punter will be doin the hair studio yeah yeah adds soon.
