another good win for Storm… just trying to remember if Canberra have ever beaten the Storm since their 1998 debut..

I don’t know about the first 5 yrs but they haven’t won in the last 5.

Took my 9 year old to game.

Canberra were very good early.
Was the sort of game that the score gives poor indication of what happened.
I believe they (raiders) may not have won at “the graveyard” yet.

nobody actually put the boot in. Lima stood on ryles foot so ryles did a half hearted stomp on Lima’s foot. Both were missed by the ref. Lima then waved his foot at Ryles and missed and Ryles kicked Lima in the leg. Wouldn’t have knocked your granny off her crutches and didn’t really upset anyone except Badger who just happened to look down at that time and saw Ryles lash out.

It didn’t really even warrant a penalty, i suppose in light of the blue earlier he could maybe have given a penalty. I have to give Ryles credit for not really blowing up when he got walked as it was a ridiculous decision and given his previous history of blowing up I fully expected it. I think he was just in shock. maybe wanted to check the calendar to make sure that it wasn’t April 1 or something.

No I’m serious about the score. They only won by 26 against 12 men for 50 minutes and looked a bit scrappy. If they play like that against the warriors in NZ next week without Slater they may only win by about 10-12 pts

Throughout the world there is more dollars for Union than there is for League – they can buy whomever they desire as long as the person is willing – I can see a lot more potential union players leaving league for what they may see as a retirement fund… If League wants to survive they need to lift the restrictions and caps… I’d welcome your thoughts!

NRL can’t afford to lift the caps unless you want about 3 sides winning the comp every year. manly and roosters have all the money but aren’‘t allowed to spend it on top liners. Why do you think they have such good reserves. They aren’t included in the top 25 cap and so they pay them buckets.

Anthony Tupou was lured from newcastle on $100k a year when he was about 18. Didn’t play grade for about 3 years. Other clubs can’t match that. You will end up with an 8 team comp after about 10 years as all the others wil be broke.

You CANNOT overcome the fact that money in Union and league overseas will ALWAYS be better than what can be paid here. Just a fact of life.

well they played worse and i was right.

by the way , did anybody else notice Hohaia pick up the ball in the in goal in the first half with one foot about half a metere over the dead ball line and they let him run it out!! very dodgy linesman call that one.

They are always tight games against the warriors. remember 4-2 last year, now 8-6.
