REAL FOOTBALL WORLD CUP 2022 IN AUSTRALIA

For Australia to host the real football world cup (not the mickey mouse one at the end of this year) in 2022, we need a minimum of 14 stadiums all with undercover seating & at least 40,000 seats, and no other sport can be played in those stadiums for a 10 week period before & during the world cup. The world cup warm up games will be played in late may to early june with the world cup to start in mid June & finish late July. Will the NRL, AFL & Rugby cancel or postphone their seasons or will they already cease to exist as the mass hysteria of the real football game grows & grows in the years leading up to the 2022 real football world cup? I think AFL will survive as it is unique but league & union will almost certainly die in this country due to our small population & the mass of money available to players if they head overseas.

The game is definately getting bigger and will continue to, thankfully, but I really don’t know if we’ll get a World Cup here, though it would be so good if i’m wrong.

I was lucky enough to go to the Football world cup in Germany 2006. It was the most awesome experience that i really cant describe, and to have such an event in Australia would make the tourism industry explode. They were getting 30,000 people to a fan fest, which is just a oversized playing field with big screens and everyone getting pissed. It was insane.

It is THE GAME no question about it! Football is played in more countries than any other and is watched by more people than any other….it demands more money for its players and creates more advertising revenue than any other per head! And its bloody great to watch! There will be a world cup here, no question, when I dont know but 2022 is as good a year as any other….who would have thought the Olympics would have been given to China? By 2022 we will have the stadia to cope with it and the interest will be massive. Anyone that has been to an international or big football match will tell you that its simply a wonderful exoerience… I dont think NRL or AFL will stop, thats just stupid. In the UK football is by far the biggest sport, but there is still room for both league and union, although its a much bigger population. I think there will room for all codes but football will prevail as the most popular…without any doubt!

The type of venue that is required – NSW only has 3 (maybe 4) QLD probably 2, Vic, Not sure but probably 6 or so, SA, ? WA ?, we would probably just sneak in the 14. (Either that or co host with NZ) IFFF Oz were to obtain the Fooozball World Cup, because the AFL, NRL QRL and whatever other RL don’t own the venues, they would simply renegotiate the timings and usage, ie; home games played at alternate venues, and the clubs would no doubt pick up a $$$ windfall for the inconvenience. You would then have your WC in Oz. They did it for the Rugby World Cup, so this would not be any different. I am sure most of is already in the making, otherwise they would not bother putting in a bid for something they know they have no hope of being able to stage.
The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish..... |

for a starter you dont need 14 stadiums. you only need 10. next i love football but we will never see a world cup here. lets look at the stadiums So we have 5 at best and i certainly wouldnt want to watch a game at the MCG. It was crap against uruguay. u are too far away. the dome is just as bad. youre best bet would be to build/upgrade 40K stadiums in Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Hobart, Townsville. Upgrade Olympic park to 60K. use suncorp and telstra stadium. but i cant see the government building/upgrading 7 stadiums. as for the afl, nrl and rugby union. well rugby league and union are slowly dying sports. they are no problem. afl is a whole other problem. afl are already threatened by footbal and if the world cup comes to oz afl interest will be at an all time low. many people who normally wouldnt watch football will watch the world cup and once they see how good football is they will never go back. the afl will do everything in their power to stop the world cup form happening here.

Real football… pfft. Lets leave the rioting overseas shall we. The only code of “football” where the female supporters are tougher than the players.

Perth should have the new stadium by then. One down a few to go. Bigger than the Olympics. Hope it comes off!

I assume the new stadium will be for the AFL, NRL and Union – I mean why build a stadium that big for actors – I reckon soccer players should be in the movies and on stage ;-)))

Ditty. You are showing your Ignorance. Football is the world game & always will be. You talk about Actors. What are these A.F.L. players in there tight shorts. Seem to recall a movie about A.F.L. too. The world cup will come to Oz. It.s just a matter of when.

lol not as long as we have State of Origin <smiles> Maybe with a few more $10 immigrants and the abolishion of the white Australia policy, oh that’s right, it’s gone…. soccer may have the world cup in Aus in 10 or so years…

Was reading an interveiw in a national newspaper with a pair of fairly well known league personalities. Thier comments went something like this.

ohhh the bloody noses – thanks mate!! :) Yep, tend to agree with your post – we are slowly being over-run with people coming to the lucky country looking for freedom and a chance to live life as it should be lived. I just don’t like the spectator violence in the sport – we used to take the kids to Union and VFL games in Melbourne and feel safe – no way would I take youngsters to a soccer match!

Many of these riots still have racial roots to them. F.F.A. have made great strides in trying to minimise the racial aspects of the sport but unfortunately racism still occasionally rears it,s ugly head.

That’s a fact but what I don’t like is these people, so called fans, bringing their shit to Australia – we have always been good sportsmen (good sports in sport) and enjoyed our sport no matter what it is, ie 2 flys crawling up a wall, why should we have to put up with the violence that soccer brings – not a good way to introduce a supposed world sport to Australia and get everyone on side… most of us like all codes of football with a bit of sledging thrown in of course… but this crap that “some” soccer fans go on with here in Australia is ridiculous. My intent on going to a game is to enjoy and barrack – not turn on a blue with someone that doesn’t support my team!
