well at least to this man. just watched the the bleeding cup last weekend with a rugger aficianado, is the whole game based on the referee and his ability to spot who’s strayed offside. as a pom i was disgusted that we won a world cup in a sport where we didn’t score a goal or try in the final, god preserve us from the six weeks in france coming up and the incessant tv coverage, so glad it will be in the early hours and not interrupting real life

Rugby is boring as bat shit apart from the punch ups.

The running game is hard to understand on your first viewing, but stick with it. It is a far superior to rugby league and unlike Aussie Rules, its an International game.

As i am originally from one of the southern states who does not embrace rugby union i was very confused after watching my first union game. but since living in sydney for the past 6 years i have come to enjoy the game so my advice is don’t make your opinion up after one game

Too much “head up the date” type action for my tastes but not the most boring sport…rhythmic gymnastics…now there’s a boring sport. It’s like…”Look Mum. I’ve got a hula hoop!”

Fantastic sport, and when two equal teams play, unbeatable.

Issues with scrummaging coming up to the WC, but hopefully we’ll see some of the better teams being more flambouyant in the backs in the pool games.

Yes, unfortunatly England changed the game was played for a couple of years, but we’re over that and I look forward to an early exit from them.

Hehehe…it’s actually quite ironic, there’s a statement that rugby union is a boring sport…on a GOLFING website? I play both sports so find them equally as interesting…but if I showed my rugby union mates (who don’t play golf) this post, they’d just laugh and say “Well, how can a golfer say that?” Then they’d realise that you’re a Pom too and it’s all over…

I think channel ten will also show some delayed telecasts of other games apart from the wallabies but i don’t know how many. the new alpha has a world cup guide with what the tv stations will be and not be showing

Channel ten coverage… well I thought 7 was bad enough last time, but ten… After the opening game when instead of showing the post match interviews they went to ads, then had their tv “experts” (and I use the term loosely – where’s the likes of Eales, Horan etc?) discuss the post match interviews that we didn’t get to see then cut to more ads. Absolute load of boll-ocks.

They are just bearable. Ben Darwin has trainer wheels on and seems to be playing the role of “jolly fat man”. Ben Tune is OK.
