How do you reackon the Aussie lads will go at the Asian cup. the side doesnt seem to bad viduka scoring and kewell back few lads missing but the side looks strong hoping they go all the way and take it out. how do yous think they will go.

There’s one young bloke in the Kangaroo’s that’s the worst of them. Can’t think of his name. Plays in the forward pocket. Milked 3 or 4 goals from the umps versus the Blues on the Gold Coast.

I can’t help but think that there will no problems up to the semi’s or quarters, and we’ll get some ref some Oman or other third world country whose biggest income is from some subcontinental bookie who will ref us out of the game. If we win this thing it could be our one-and-only Asian Cup appearance.

Some of the “asian” teams (middle-eastern) are not only bigger divers than europeans, they are much worse at it.

How are you going guys, the Socceroos are fantastic and they will perform well I’m sure, but don’t underestimate the conditions that will greet them in Asia. Sure the teams are competetive add fast but they are also more aclimatised and that may be the key to the hole tournament. 30 degrees and above every day and 95% humidity even at night. These boys will need to be at their very best to come home with the trophy and they will have to use their recovery time very wisely or it may be down hill after the first game. I’ll be cheering all the way for our green and gold brothers but I’ve been in those conditions and it can really sit you on your backside if you don’t prepare well and keep hydrated. Go the Green and Gold.

Well, as I said. We were very lucky to get out of that game with any points at all. The boys looked like they were running in sand for most of the game, 34 degrees is just not what they are used to playing in.

Hopefully the training staff can recover the boys in time for Friday or it could be more of the same. I think not though, I believe the shot in the arm they got last night should be enough, and three weeks over there is plenty of time to aclimatise and they have finished the tapering of their training, so energy levels should be a bit higher in the next game.

FD, when you say much worse at it, do you mean, they do it more often, or, they’re so bad at it they get caught more often? Either way, it’s a crap way to play the game, and it’s in a lot of sports, not just “soccer”.

They do it more often and far less believeable, and if you watched the game last night you would have seen some great refereeing – a yellow card was shown for a feigned injury. The question came up during the telecast – how can they police it? Trial by video. After the game, review these incidents and dish out suspensions, but FIFA are much too gutless.

That’s no excuse mate, they’re paid a pretty good peny when they get to this level.

Viduka has asked for Aloissi to join him up front and Kewell to cruise down the left with Bresciano on the right, a good call I say and keep Cahill as an impact player off the bench.

Yep great player, but not yet fully fit.

cahill coming out when hes fresh and everyone else is tired is awesome. its a sacrifice to keep him off the whole match but he destroys the opposition as soon as he comes on.

I agree, we need a high profile coach that will bring experience to he team. I think Dick Advocat is almost a certainty.

However, a full team of full-time professionals playing in strong European leagues couldn’t beat some part-timers with no technical and tactical knowledge. Watto, you and Darth could have been coaching and still have won…...

just watched the game against Thailand.. that score didnt do Thailand justice.. overall they played better then our boys
