Another pro wrestler dead - Chris Benoit this time...

Saw it on the news last night. He murdered his wife and son before hanging himself. As a father, it just makes me sick to even contemplate what he did… I don’t know what happened between him and his missus (apparently there was a history of disturbances), but the poor kid getting caught up in this is just tragic.

They need to do some serious looking at the wrestling industry – so many wrestlers dying, either from steroid abuse or painkiller abuse, and so many lives just steamrolled over by the industry. This sort of thing should be a wake up call for Vince McMahon.

Agree with some, disagree with some.

Damn tragic what has happened, apparently he sent a few disturbing text messages to other wrestlers which led the WWE to call the police.

Latest report says that steroids were found at the home.

It’s also been reported that he was still struggling with the death of Eddie Guerrero.

The domestic disturbances were well documnted.

As a father, I too can not contemplate what he did to his son.

Benoit was one of those wrestlers you looked at and could actually believe the story lines they came up with for him, i.e going from Cruiserweight Champion to Heavyweight Champion.

Not one of my favourite wrestlers, but will definitely be named among the greats for what he did in the ring.

As for the wrestling industry, it does need to look at itself. It’s killing itself from within.

I don’t know if the WWE will recover from this – they were already getting a panning over the Mr McMahon death due to a car bomb storyline. Eddie was the beginning of the end – this may be the nail in the coffin

(I don’t watch it regularly, but describe it to my wife as Home and Away for blokes…)

If it was to go under, Vince wont go broke…........

What happened to the dude that the car exploded on. Is he dead or what. I cant believe what happened with benoit, anyway most of that wrestling is all crap stroylines.

Vince mcmahon didnt really die, it was a bad publicity stunt, i dont know why the crowd is always full of adults. I never got into wrestling but my little brothers love it.

Didn’t Lex Luger die a few years ago? Served jail time and died from an OD.

Didn’t Lex Luger pass away a few years ago?

Steroids..people on them will do strange things, they dont just change your body they alter your mind more serverly than crytal meth in the long term.

so John (Daly) how did you make a 14?....well i missed the putt ior a 13 dickhead

Why did he do it? Money?

Pressure to look good, big and lean, so people find him popular!!!! Extends his career. Might have also used them as well to recover quicker from injury…..

No Lex Luger hasn’t passed away. He’s a reborn Christian but he definitely did spend time in jail. If you remember Miss Elizabeth, a wrestling manager back in her time, she passed away after ‘accidently’ taking drugs while drinking.

Jake the Snake Roberts is a cocaine freak, Bam Bam Bigolow is in the ground I think. I agree with w Home and Away for Blokes…. Gets a lot better with a lot of grog and a few mates.

Miss Elizabeth, Macho Man’s ex wife… I heard she has passed away…

Been looking at Youtube and there is a lot of debate about steroids in pro sport and pro wrestling in particular.

Also had a look at a website that lists all the wrestlers that have died. The list of wrestlers from the last 10 years is damn scary. A lot of these guys are still only in their 40’s when they die. Health issues and illnesses that are linked to steroid/alcohol/drug use comes through very strongly.

I love watching wrestling. It’s great fun to watch with my father and son. Have discovered TNA which has a schtik of attacking Vince, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Has some former WWF, WCW, ECW wrestlers as well as some new wrestlers. It is just as fun to watch. The action is well crafted as well, some awesome moves.

I’m starting to like TNA more than WWE.

is pro wrestling considered a sport? How could it be a sport when they act all the time and fake their fight??
