AFL Coverage on Channel 7

Talk about boring. The whole commentary team just have no chemistry at all. Bruce and Dennis are great callers, but not on the same team.

Tim Watson...wooden as all buggery and completely humourless - special comments but states the bleeding obvious. David Schwarz has been OK but Rick Olarenshaw is a waste of space - Dipper would be better.

They really should have grabbed someone like Dwayne Russell. He can be a tosser but at least he can be entertaining.

The whole coverage is just bland...

Agreed almost to a fault RobJ. Cometti's class is ruined by McAveney's sycophancy. For Watson to work he has to give some really clever insights, yet you see most of what he says coming. It's sad.

But then we've struggled for a decent commentary team since Lou Richards and co. Even then I always thought Landy was a complete idiot.

I don't mind it.

And the Footy Show's incessant whinging makes it even better. If you can't watch a footy match and drone out the commentators, stop watching.

You watch the footy show? blink.gif Fishy, you're a Blue man. The best non-game show is On the Couch.

We get the real footy show at bedtime here, so I flick it on, watch Sam offend someone and fall asleep wink.gif

The persistent whinging is sensational. They quoted 'a paper' that had a poll reading 4% approval rating of Channel 7's coverage. Anyone care to guess what paper it came from (they didn't quote it on the show).

I think "here" might be something I'm reasonably familar with.

i listen to 3AW or Triple M with the TV coverage turned on.

or if its on fox active I listen to the umpire mics

The picture quality is extremely poor.

I like the overhead cameras - gives a real good look at whats happening.
might be different for someone used to attending a game but its a look that i hardly ever see.

For further information, send me a PM?

Adjust the coat-hanger sticking out the back of your TV.

They need to get rid of Dennis and Tim and replace them with Dermis and someone like Huddo!! I watched in amazement last night as the 3 commentators asked 3 seperate rethorical questions, I think they were anyway, not one of them responded or gave their point of view about what the other had said.

Raines old man also put the moz on us at half time, we were in this position against Carlton!! WTF?????

The channel 10 coverage would be sensational, if only they got rid of that complete halfwit Steve Quartermain who has made a living out of knowing f#ckall about sport, and sweet f#ck all about footy.

Motion carried.

Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US

glad you gents agree - he's fast becoming 10's answer to Kenny Sutcliffe.

I think 7's coverage is very average at present. Maybe it'll improve technically.

I've never liked McAvaney. He doesn't know the subtle advantages of understatement. Cometti's good, but his clever way with words doesn't gel with McAvaney's dominating whiney voice and sycophantic style.

Schwarz is vaguely improving but, for the sake of our children, Olarenshaw should be banned from our screens until he can learn to speak proper English. Anyone who uses grammar like "He come off the ground" should be sent back to Frankston, Kyeton (sic) or wherever he learnt to speak like that.

Agree Publish...McAvaney tries to beat the moment - problem is he does it virtually every goal of the game !!!

Bat droppings?? yep Bat poo ! the ox doesnt rate on telly for me maybe he's like watson "it will happen" The sight of jackovich and dunstall sharing a desk ?? widescreen was needed. gotto say aw or dribble em do a great job and you can do jobs while you listen.. the way the game is played these days telly doesn't realy cover it ... I rarely watch a full game now. its an individual thing... going to the game is the only way!!!! love the doctor on triple em

If bruce says 'good catch' one more time when someone takes a mark I'm calling to make a complaint.
