The new train is off the blocks and raring to go!!!
Only three sleeps to go until we pump those blue baggers. This is a huge Round 1 for the Tiges and I would love to see us jump from the blocks with a solid win over inferior opposition.
Backs Chris Newman 1 Darren Gaspar 2 Andrew Raines 4

drew, I reckon P. Bowden on the back flank for Deledio and Deledio on the wing for Tivendale. Send Tivendale to Coburg and give Howat and one of the other kids a spot on the pine with Knobel and Hyde. I'll be there on Sunday afternoon/evening and I'm starting to get excited about seeing how the boys will go first up against a confident Blues team. Hopefully the Tigers can kick start the season with 4 points.

"Train departing Richmond station is defective and not taking passengers". "Repeat - Train departing Richmond station is defective and not taking passengers" "Stand clear please. Stand clear."
Beware of cheap imitations - Especially from the US |
The only passengers the train is taking is a wooden spoon...
Well it has one passenger already - Nathan Brown.

I'll bet $100 they don't win the spoon. Not a bad side if you ignore the weak centre line they have named. I know its only a paper side, bu wtf is Deledio doing on the back flank when Tivendale and Polo are running around on the wings!
As suggested above Moe, Deledio should be there in place of Tivendale who should be running around in Coburg...
Tivendale should be runnning around for East Ringwood... Not a bad side on paper there, just looking foward to having a few drinks and watching the Tigers tear out of the blocks! Sensational to see Jacob King in the side

Not accross one line would you say there is anything special. A couple of talents, filled up with a lot of mediocrity. Prediction: 10-16

I watched a lot of the tiges last year as a few mates are raving idiot tiger supporters and I reckon if they don't make the finals this year there needs to be a lot of questions asked. A lot of good kids, who probably won't peak for a few years yet, but the potential is huge. The weak backline was painful last year as was a non-functional forward line in most games, but the kids running through the middle was great to see. Your side is pretty much the opposite of Collingwood. I reckon the future is bright, but the train will probably derail mid year like it does every year.

andrew raines will be one to watch, huge talent

Real shame about Browny, but I hope they have picked it up early
enough to save his season.
if you don't win by 5+ goals you're dreaming. Carlton are terrible

A quote from a Richmond forum poster on Brown's injury: "i feel like i've woken up on christmas morning and someone has pissed all over the presents"
Hopefully we will see a fully healed brown back round 3. Read he could possibly be right for rd2, but would love to see him have an extra week.

Round 3... Just in time for him to tear Collingwood apart... again.
it was a good move that one - away from the Dogs. I can't recall what they got for him and who they picked with it?
** Edited to note that Essendon chose Kepler Bradley with Pick 6 **
hmm, pretty good deal for the Tiges then. Shame they traded away pick 6 and ended up with Rawlings. What is it with blokes leaving the Hawks and turning into duds overnight?

OOPS!! Wrong result but a great game of footy, big fan of the Sunday night game.
Gotta agree, although they appeared fitter than the Blues I don't think they're mentally tough enough for 4 quarters. They should have buried the Blues in the 3rd!!!
woeful Drew, almost as bad as the pies were. Foot skills are atrocius, still overuse the pill and a few blokes still have no confidence in their wn ability. Does anyone butcher more pill than Tivendale? Interesting how well Cam Cloke played...
I disagree, I don't think the togers lost it, they blues won it. Were harder at the ball for 3.5 qtrs, were direct with a huge increase in skill disposal, and we dominated the scoring -39 scoring shots!
Surely you're kidding drew. It was disgraceful. Apart from that brief period in the second quarter when they got a run on, it was the same old over use of the ball that we have seen in the last 5 years. When Carlton had the ball they looked dangerous running from half back with plenty of numbers. When the Tigers had it, they looked stagnant and I lost count of how many times Richmond players were told by the umpire to play on after they'd taken too long to get rid of the ball after a mark in their defensive half. If they keep playing like that (which I'm confident that they won't) then they will not win a game for the entire year. Joel Bowden had an absolute shocker, but was saved by the fact that Fevola did as well (despite the 3 or 4 that he kicked). Terry Wallace has some serious work to do.

Sorry Drew, U&D is entirely correct. This stop/go type of football cost us big time, and with no runners it wasn't surprising. In the end we ran out of puff, actually it happened mid third quarter. The thing which also alarms me is that Wallace introduced running football to Footscray, which is now bearing fruit, yet there isn't any sign of that at Richmond. And let's not talk about disposal.
