Only a week to go before it all kicks off for "a game a day" for 6 solid weeks. Here are the Groups: Group A
Group B
Group C
Group D
The Group stage should be little more than a bit of match practice for the Test status nations, however as Kenya showed last time anything can happen. The odds for winning are as follows:
Australia 3.25

The Aussies aren't bad at that price, although the Poms are probably the best roughy?! Anyone know if Pietersen is back?
i like the Lankans odds thanks. Best death bowler in the world and a handy batting lineup. I'm still backing us though.
Centrebet are offering 10.00 for the Pommies and 12.00 for the Pakistani's. Although the Aussies are only 3.15 and Windies/NZ are 8.00 I think I'll cover the field with $10 on each of India, Sri Lanka, NZ (I'm patriotic or stupid) and Australia (to recover a bit in case they get their act together).
Anyone know how much (if any) is being broadcast on FTA? I haven't been following that closely.
Pietersen is indeed back. Sri Lanka are the best value on those prices. The standard of world bowling is at an all time low with the retirement of Warne and McGrath, so it'll come down to who can poleaxe attacks best, and the Lankans have some good hitters. If you can get a bet on it, back Ireland to make the Super Eights.
Umm...why?
I believe the group matches are on Pay, but FTA is picking it up from the Super 8 stage. I'm not sure if this only applies to Australian matches though.

How did Bermuda actually make it there ? or home for that matter

The zimmers certainly aren't going to win, but they could sneak a game or two in against the pakies or the windies. Its certainly going to be hit and giggle as opposed to a real cricket fest. I remember seeing games at Sabina Park that were comical. Like playing with a superball in a carpark. Anything out of arms reach in the infield or out of a 3 meter arc in the outfield went to the boundary. My thoughts on the world cup - Go Pies. but seriously - it will be interesting, really a pity that the games start at midnight and go till 7 -8am, not going to see much of it.

No chance. Ireland will beat them - and probably Pakistan too. They have some handy Sydney grade cricketers in their side. They ran Sth Africa to a good game last night. Zimbabwe are a severely depleted side. Not by injury or form either.
Peanuts,
This is a bit of a turn up. Taking a form line through Sth
Africa...very dangerous stuff indeed.
Good win by the Bangers over the Kiwi's last night...and to see Robin open up in the Aussie game.
Gotta love the Bermudian gun spinner Dwayne Leverock -2-32 from 10 overs against the Poms and he got Collingwood and Pietersen out!
also a former silver medallist in the Trinidad & Tobago 110m hurdle titles - quite an athlete!
the hurdles wouldn't stand a chance Moe...

Only about 8 hours to go until we take on the Scots. Will they be playing in coloured kilts? Is Hayden or Watson opening with Gilly?
Why don't they force Hayden to bat out of position at #7? Obviously Watson can't do it, maybe he can.
If they are, how will they keep the box in place?
Hayden is opening.
Home on The Range |
Strap on...
Oooh, gaffer tape around those orangey pubes...
Good to see my old mate Hoggy get some runs (and quickly) and
bowl well too - admittedly it was against the Scots
24 off the last over, go George you good thing.
anyone else think Hayden was plumb first ball, and the bowler didn't even appeal?
