Samuels looked like he grabbed Hussey to me. In the end I don’t think Hussey was going but he shouldn’t have laid hands on him.

Warnie is supposed to be the captain though – he should take it up with the umpires. Not swear on the mic and then throw the ball at Samuels. I don’t believe that it was unintentional.

I have always defended Shane Warne particularly as I thought he had a sense of cricket (tactically) well beyond most. I did not support him when the conversation (usually with Victorians) turned to his suitability to captain Australia.

Unfortunately Warney is the little boy who never grew up (even at 40+), prone to outbursts like last night when things don’t go his way.

Samuels did hold Hussey (see clip below) and there was also a very suspect catch to dismiss Maxwell. Warne absolutely crossed the line, but at the time his side was getting spanked so I guess (as captain) he saw it as a last chance effort to maybe cause a collapse and save the game. Wrong action to take but Samuels also at fault, twice.

Nothing in it, the rant was just about being competitive and wanting to win and he had every right to do so. Most of the great players have that competitive niggle in them to try and get under the oppositions skin. It’s not golf, people are to precious.

I must whole heartedly apologise, I do not like being a person who is having a crack at a sportsman for something they do in the heat of the moment, instead I would like to applaud him on his most clever and witty sledge while Marlon was batting.
