I just think many sports in the Olympics were/are riddled with drugs, the only reason we found out cycling was because of testimonies and a massive investigation, not testing.

Any chance you saw the woman weightlifters at the Olympics? Especially the Russian and Belarusian’s, it is pretty comical stuff, half of them you could see have to shave each day, but they all come back clean from testing.

Sadly it is just a no win situation no matter how you look at it, some people suggest they should just allow performance enhancing across the board and as stupid as it seems it is probably quite a practical solution, not that it would ever happen. Or everyone just puts their head in the sand and pretends sport is clean and the testers are on top of things, probably the best way to go to keep enjoying our sport.

On the AFL the famous West Coast boys must have been juicing while also partying hard? Those guys were doing anything and everything, I remember Kerr was recorded by the cops over the phone talking about Ketamine use at one stage lol

I know what Katamine is, I was making a jibe at how extensive their drug use was and based on that suggested it is not a stretch to assume performance enhancing drugs were in the mix, although one thing about being in Australia is access to them might not be as easy as other countries. By the way cocaine is definitely performance enhancing and we know they were using that.

One of things Armstrong pointed out in his interview was how easy it was to schedule use around testing and the short half life of the drugs he was using. AFL testing back then was a complete joke, if I recall a player was unlucky if they got tested 2-3 times a year, it is comical how easy it could have been to get away with it. But of course it is pure speculation how many or how few in the AFL could have been using, impossible to know.

I am massively biased as a cyclist, I have many friends who are pro and have heard many interesting stories about pro’s and their “antics”. Lance was not alone.
