For mine Tiger is a bigger wanker than Lance.

Yep he cheated but to be fair who wasn’t cheating? Tiger destroyed his family – family is more important than a bike race!

I oddly still admire Lance a lot. He cheated but ya know what he was so clever he almost got away with it.

In an odd way the european fans wont care one little bit.

I will still watch the TDF. Its not just about who wins and who loses.

It’s all about the haves and the have nots.

Those that have taken drugs and those who have not

Those who have won millions of dollars in prize money after taking drugs and those who have not won any money when they have not taken drugs.

Lance has received significant financial gain from the illegal activities he has been doing.

He is not a hero or an athlete, he is a fraud and a liar.

The Tour isn’t just some nice tredley around some pretty areas of the world for your visual enjoyment it is a multi-million dollar race where careers and livelihoods are at stake….

Have you come here to play Jesus, with the leopards in your head

A small time conartist/ trickster walking free and wealthy amongst the peope he conned.Thank god I never read the book given to as a present a few years back.Something didn`t seem right back then.Smelt of a fairytale con, the Yanks management teams & marketing people conjure up.

I am number six double three

The first drug cheat in cycling was in the 1930’s

Its not a massive supprise. Cyling for probably 60 years ignored drug culture. It didnt care. Sadly the culture is now so ingrained its almost impossible to stop. Weight lifting has the same culture.

I see lance as a great athlete that could have probably done well without drugs. He chose not to. Cycling UCI knew what was going on.

Cycling cant fix it now. Its culture is ingrained so deeply it probably cant change.

Golf is only a game…Yeah right who are you kidding?

Just on the cheating ……....... now that he is being stripped of his 7 TDF cheating finishes ……........ Who are the guys who are going to be announced the winners for those 7 years?

I read they want to have those years recorded as “no official winner”

Do they have to go down to the 35th placed person before they eventually find one who was not cheating, and then award them the trophy etc?

That’s possibly why :-( Unless they have frozen samples from the top finishers that could detect banned substances with new testing methods, it’s probably safest not to name anyone to avoid further controversy. It’d also be a pretty hollow “victory” to be named the winner so many years after your chance at standing in the spotlight has gone.

he might need some EPO in the big house as he is going to be running from the big boys who are going to make his bum feel like he rode the mountain stages without his seat.

Wouldn’t mind as much but he was so freakin self righteous. It is laughable now when you see him basically goad the world to doubt him after he won the 7th and he was on the victory dias.

For those who say it is just a sport, I say BS. If it was amateurs, then I couldn’t care, but he has defrauded his countries cycling administration, sponsors, forced teammates to take drugs (for that alone he should do time). WANKER.

Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme no longer considers Lance Armstrong a seven-time winner of the world’s most prestigious cycling race.

Speaking shortly after cycling’s governing body ratified the US Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to strip Armstrong of wins since August 1998, Prudhomme welcomed the decision, reiterating his belief that there should be no new champions declared for the seven Tours that Armstrong had won.

“It’s without surprise that we received today’s news, it’s totally logical. Lance Armstrong is no longer the winner of the Tour de France from 1999-2005,” Prudhomme said at the Paris headquarters of ASO, which owns the race.
“We wish that there is no winner for this period. For us, very clearly, the titles should remain blank. Effectively, we wish for these years to remain without winners.”

Armstrong also finished third in the 2009 Tour in his comeback year and will lose that too.

The UCI will meet on Friday to consider re-attribution of titles and prize money from races.
“In all logic, everything must disappear,” Prudhomme said. “This is the story of a real talent who lost his way.”

The shitty thing about doping is that quite possibly, if everyone was riding clean and it was apples vs apples, he possibly still could have won. He didn’t invent doping, but nor was he just a user. He pushed other riders into doing it, and destroyed careers and reputations of anyone who got in his way.

We’ll never know, but if everyone was clean, who would have won those years?

Who else was up there at the time he was winning?

Ullrich has been caught, so was Pantinini, I suspect they were almost all doping and he was still just better than them.

well said!!

There’s more to the page but click the link to section 8, “Doping histories of Top-10 finishers, 1998 – 2012”. It makes for pretty depressing reading.

Reading the rest of the page, were we all fools to ever think that the human body can do a Grand Tour without artificial enhancement?

ok so now that we know he perpetrated the BIGGEST AND MOST CLYNICAL cheating the sport has ever seen lets tear down another myth

LIVESTRONG-yes a noble cause indeed and ppl saying ah leave lance alone look what he does for cancer, i say BOLLOCKS

livestrong DOES NOT repeat DOES NOT donate a single cent to cancer research, it mission statement(vomit in my mouth) is to RAISE AWARENESS of cancer two completwely different situations

so ppl pour money into livestrong and lance flies around the country to events(on livestrong money and a private jet-since returned) to RAISE AWARENESS

please sdee the following:

“If Lance Armstrong went to jail and Livestrong went away, that would be a huge setback in our war against cancer, right? Not exactly, because the famous nonprofit donates almost nothing to scientific research. BILL GIFFORD looks at where the money goes and finds a mix of fine ideas, millions of dollars aimed at “awareness,” and a few very blurry lines.”

He didnt force anyone to take drugs – they chose to!

Golf is only a game…Yeah right who are you kidding?

He told team members they would be kicked off the team if they didn’t follow their personal drug program.

He forced them.

You can’t win a Tour without 100% help from a very fast team. For those that actually know anything about the race know how vital this is…. So yeah, I’m in the camp of he “pressured” them to dope as well.

it’s semantics Dave. He would get done for certain workplace laws in Australia. It would be like my boss coming up to me and saying, ‘Listen, you need to take some EPO if you want to keep this job. You know plenty of others would jump at the chance to take your place.’

You are right, wasn’t held down and needled, BUT, I would imagine a full bench of the High Court would see that a needle was basically inserted into the vein and he was asked to choose. Not much of a choice. I don’t think that was in his contract.

Thats pressure yes but they needed to be brave!

I dont waste time or energy hating lance or anyone

Lance will live with it – it will gnaw away at him so he will pay a hefty guilt or physchological pain at some point.

Dont forget the whistle blowes also made allot of cash cheating too. Tyler Hamilton has already written a book! Hes a cheat too!

He didnt inject the drugs into them – they chose too.

Yeah LiveStrong does some good but it’s not what people think it is. Imagine half a billion dollars going to scientists and medical researchers instead of into fuel for his private jet to do speaking engagements.

Cancer awareness? Everyone knows it exists. Everyone knows someone who has survived it or died from it. It’s a brilliant way for Lance to maintain his public profile while living very well and also using it as a shield against his accusers. If you hate me you hate cancer sufferers! He even tried pulling that shit on Obama:

In the online publication, “The Influence Peddler”, Roberts writes that avid cyclist and former presidential candidate John Kerry found himself on the receiving end of the strong-arm tactics Armstrong used to get his way.

In the summer of 2008, Barack Obama was emerging as the prime presidential candidate, channeling his motto of hope and change to the top of the polls. Kerry, who had helped promote bike events to raise funds for cancer causes, was friendly with Armstrong. But Armstrong wanted Obama to join Republican candidate John McCain in speaking at a July 25 Livestrong event, and was not going to take “no” for an answer, despite the fact that Obama would be in Europe on that date.

Roberts recounts a story of Kerry reading a furious email from Armstrong, which included the ultimatum: “If cancer isn’t an issue of concern for the Democratic Party, then we will go into the database of Livestrong, which has millions of people, and let them know where the Democratic Party stands.”

sending people to jail doesnt achieve anything, infact the legal battle that would go on would waste millions and also if he did go to jail it costs the tax payer more $$$ also

the best thing we can actually do is nothing, let it go away natrually and let cylcing deal with it

hes lost his titles and so forth so let it be done

Odd that you think sending people to jail doesn’t achieve anything. Whilst I don’t agree white collar criminals really should be sent to jail, I would think there would be a deterrence factor in sending fraudsters to jail- or else everyone would be ripping everyone off.

I think the worst thing that Lance has done, is use his position of power within his workplace to push others to use illegal drugs- for his ultimate gain- financial and otherwise. I think taxpayers money should be spent pursuing this matter. Freakin hell, they don’t mind spending trillions of taxpayers cash playing cops and robbers in the sandhills in the Middle East.

Supercheat, super hero to millions of sick people, nothing but a urine sample smuggler. Will vote tomorrow probably three times cheating as usual. No doubt will be doing corporate speaking engagements for millions in a few years. Will explain why he cheated and how he found God.

Ullrich has been caught, so was Pantinini, I suspect they were almost all doping and he was still just better than them.

Ullrich’s ban was for amphetamines, the equivalent of Ben Cousins being allowed back in the AFL. He’d have a decent argument for the titles. Pantani was never on the podium with Armstrong.

I can clearly remember in 2000 at the Musee Olympique in Lausanne standing in front of a display of the 5-times Tour winners being asked by an american journalist if I thought Armstrong could win 5 in a row. I gave a resounding “no”. What an idiot I was. He won the 5, then another 2 for effect.

There’s a line through his name now. Let’s hope he finds some peace.

Taking lack of talent to a whole new level.

so Lance is now getting ultra cocky and posting twitter pics relaxing in his lounge with the 7 jersey’s. I reckon he will eventually take his life. You heard it here first.

Yeah that’s a big “up yours” to the world isn’t it? What a prick.

I reckon he still doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong, but that he’s being unfairly persecuted for something that everyone else was doing so it was no big deal. If he didn’t truly believe that he was the victim in all this, surely he’d have apologised and come clean, or he must absolutely hate himself. But I’m leaning towards him seeing himself as the unfairly treated victim.

A bum on a pushbike, I`d work out his combination lock steal his bike and take it home.I`d make a paper mache replica bikeseat then cunningly put it back. Then when he jumps on it to ride home Oouch now you know how the public feels.
