Channel Nine are the same as most of the broadcasters, they dont know how to tell the time!

Strange the telecast for the Broncos’ game would take precedence over the home team’s game in Melbourne.

Regardless, if it’s not AFL, they’re not going to care.

Was a surprise visit for my nieces 21st. It’s a big party back there.
Family all live in Lower Hutt & Wellington and Palmy nth.
I usually take my clubs but not this time.
Going back for chrissie,

I think you’re in Melbourne (my home town).

There has always been that social higher than thou snobbery attitude down there, I know because my family was part of it and of the ones still alive they are still! It’s not everywhere and has been dwindling but within the white social set it’s there bigtime.

My parents and Aunts were into fox hunts etc (red coats, dogs the lot. lol) and other rellies down there into polocross etc… My mum played la cross and was well know and respected in those circles – my cousin (whom I love like a sister) goes to all the underworld funerals and knows them all – she jetsets everywhere like flying to Syd from Melb for a luncheon or dinner…lol Snobbery Breeding Ground you betcha…lol

Golf – well I’m not sure about that in Melb but in Brisbane I have only seen a little bit of it at one club in fact I saw more snobbery in Townsville at The Townsville Golf Club – some of the members were shockers and with fees at about $450 you’d wonder why…!

I belong to Northlakes and found no snobbery there at all.. everyone I’ve spoke to seems okay – lot of fun etc… I usually stand out and cause a stand offish approach because of tats etc but at a club that is up there with the best and pricey as well it floats okay..

I love taking the snobs on – it floats my boat…lol

Bit off topic ditty, but do you lads have a sunday comp up there? and if not, what would the cost be for an outsider to play one of your comps? I’m fairly confident it’ll be a little more than the $15 i payed at gailes over the weekend :)

We have a mid week comp that runs from Sunday to Friday – if you come up and play it’ll cost you $89 (includes cart) if you would like to come up and play and can let me know I’ll book you in as a guest and the cost will be $55 on a weekend or $45 during week – if you can play at 1pm or after on a sunday it would cost you $45 as a guest – let me know if you’re interested and I’ll post my email address for you. Don’t know if ISG can get you in cheaper (comp that is). ciao!

cool mate, was actually booked in to play redland bay this sunday, but if there’s a comp at north lakes sunday that would be interesting, as i didn’t have a h’cap last i played there. also at redlands it’d be $21 without a cart, so i’m happy to pay an extra $34 for north lakes, even if i had to walk it! so yes mate, very interested!

Sorry to hear about your problems with Channel 9 but the solution is easy – Foxtel. These guys stick to a tight schedule and have less ads. You will find yourself watching more sport, but you only live once.

Yep get Foxtel – it’s the ONLY place to watch league. Get the IQ box too and you’ll be in heaven :)

Channel 9 are even worse in WA. You can’t watch League on FOX until the telecast on Channel 9 (sydney ) is complete so you’re lucky to see the first game at 930pm sometimes. AFL is on either 7 or 10 so it doesn’t affect 9 at all but instead of league you have to watch some stupid CSI type show. They started to show NRL on a Sunday arvo but have canned that to put on wwf wrestling.

NRL will never get the popularity that AFL gets in WA but some !!! on the channel 9 programming dept won’t even give the small but loyal followers of NRL in WA a break.

I am allowed fox but wont get it as i would watch every thing from the Blacks beating wannabies in brisbane,
then world cup soccer, golf (to more golf), league, super bikes, moto gp,
and any one else beating austraya.

I don’t watch afl
I just couldn’t fathom 9 putting a complete game in side another and showing the 2nd half highlights of the 1st game before the 2nd half!

Long story mate and none of it real interesting – just decided to do my own thing – we’re all still family and they like to show me off when I get down to Melbourne the few times that I visit throughout the year… they have me picked up at the airport and give me a nice car to use while I’m there…all’s good.!
