Lets keep the premiership thread separate.

Rangers out of Europe already lol!

Good win for Arsenal last night against a spirited FC Twente. Liverpool very ordinary against Standard Liege and even had to rely on Reine saving a penalty!

Man city suffered a huge embarrassment.Losing to Danish minnows.

Yes the youth team got through. But we were lucky not to be a goal or two behind in the first half. Worrying signs ahead for the season, we had injuries to three midfielders and were left to put 17 year-olds debutants in key positions in what was potentially one of the biggest games.

I did expect more from Liverpool. Maybe they need a bit of time to get it together.

I think I smell a Celtic fan, Styles. ;)

Touch of a Blue here, although I’m more of a Man Utd fan. ;)

what is this mythical Champions League and Uefa Cup you talk about…....

Its like the Championship but better, which is something your team will likely be experiencing next year Faldo. ;) (The Championship that is.)

this is one of the funniest clips you will ever see.

McClaren’s been in Holland 3 months and now he talks with a daft accent. Really funny hahaha!

Liverpool = flukey bastards

Arsenal. Good win and you can only beat whats in front of you but FC Twente were crap. The goons were better than Saturday but still we need to improve drastically and soon!

Seen the draw?

Chelsea – Roma – Bordeaux – CFR Clujnapoca
Inter Milan – Werder Bremen – Panathanikos – Anorthosis Famagusta
Barcelona – Sporting Lisbon – FC Basel – Shaktar Donetsk
Liverpool – Marseille – Atletico Madrid – PSV
Man U – Villareal – Celtic – AAB Aalborg
Lyon – Bayern Munich – Steaua Bucharest – Fiorentina
Arsenal – Porto – Dynamo Kiev – Fenerbache
Real Madrid – Juventus – Zenit St. Petersburg – Bate Borislov

Hopefully lady luck will smile on Liverpool all season both In Europe and the EPL.

Tough group stage draw for the Reds, Torres’ return to Atletico Madrid that pumped Schalke 4-0, Marseille who won 1-0 at Anfield last season and PSV that knocked Spurs out of Uefa cup in March.

Looks like me and Styles will be watching with some interest our little group. Being a “blue” Man Utd fan I’m hoping for a home and away win against the “Hoops”. ;)

And Faldo, no glory hunter here, just a glory basker. ;)

Being a United fan with Celtic fondness, I hope they come second in our group. Many fond memories of Celtic. They were the first British club to win the European cup.

Just a bit of self indulgement here.
United have released their European strip. The shade of blue that we won wore when we won the European cup in 1968.( the year after Celtic won theirs)
I was there I bought the shirt I know it well :-)))

I didn’t know you followed the forces of Mordor!

whats worse than being a manyoo fan? Being a manyoo fan and having rangers as your second team!

May be being a fan of ManU and having a manager that played for Rangers;-))

Well United lost big time to Zenit(where did that come from) St Petersburg.
By all acounts Zenit out played us hugely, and we lost Scholsie for the next euro game.

The good news is that Manyoo were played off the park by zenit who look a class act.

The bad news, Rangers stuffed Celtic 4-2 in the first Old Firm derby of the year in Scotland

Euro super cup don’t matter. Its like a Friday afternoon ambrose. ;)

Rangers beating Celtic is just the shape of things to come for the hoops. ;)

Time to bump this one up after the last couple of days. Overall a good week for the English teams in Champs League.

ManU will probably be disappointed but at least they didn’t lose.

Same for my boys and it was the same old story. Lots of chances but couldn’t put them away so built up pressure and encouraged the opposition. But again it would have been worse and I would have taken a draw in Kiev before the game.

Liverpool again raised their game in Europe, and if that team who I can’t even attampt to spell had not beaten Roma, theirs would have been the best result of the week IMO.

ManU will probably be disappointed but at least they didn’t lose.

I am very dissapointed with that one. All the other English clubs did better than us.
United started the last season behind the eight ball. They seem to be slow starters but good finishers. Hope this is the case.
When the dust has settled and united are playing their flowing football all should be good.
It seems to be phenonimum(?) when a team are the holders of a trophy their opposition play their hearts out to beat them.

The Gunners and Man U bounced back with good wins this morning. Arsenal’s 4-0 could easily been 6 or 7, but then again, a couple of good saves from Almunia at 0-0 were important.

ManU strolled past Aalborg, with Berbatov being gifted a goal by the defence, before scoring a cracker from a Ronaldo cross.

Celtic lost (again), Juve came from 2 down to draw with BATE Borisov, Bayern came from behind to draw with Lyon, and Real beat Zenit away 2-1.

Liverpool are the live game on both SBS and ESPN tomorrow morning.

A safe three points for United, but with the loss of Scholes.
Hope his knee is not too bad. Rooney also a bit sore. Good to see Berbatov get in the act, many more to follow I hope.
Arsenal back on track after the weekend.

Shit I keep forgetting about SBS, I do not have Fox.

Liverpool up, Chelsea down. Ahhh there is a god:-))))))

Anyone else read David Moyes rant after Everton got knocked out of the Uefa Cup this morning? Laid all the blame on the fact that the referee did not send off an opposition player after the player was booked for discent in the first half. How lame is that? Is he going to complain next time the referee does send off an opponent incorrectly. Is he going to complain if one of HIS players doesn’t get sent off when he should have? I think not. Some times these guys have just got to accept the fact that they were not up to it on the day (and I include Arsene Wenger in that). You lose – don’t blame someone else.
