I am watching it here in Tokyo…this morning they had the swimming. Here is a bit of the commentary:

I love the winter Olympics and sit through 5 hours of ice dancing to see three “half” runs of the Giant slalom.

and i could handle all the shit, if the programming was a bit more specific, ie:- actually providing timeslots. all you get is:

7pm-2am olympic coverage from beijing: insert a massive list of crap here

at least if there were timeslots stated i could avoid all the stuff that i’m not interested in, instead of sitting in front of the tube for 4 or 5 hours waiting to see an event that you get 1/8th of the action. crappence.

Yea what is with them cutting out the end of certain matches too. I was watching the Aus v Sth Africa mens hockey and with like 5 mins to go they cut to the swimming! Sure Aus was 10 – 0 up, but I invested over an hour watching so I wanted to see it all.

Can someone tell me why, given that there must be hundreds of events on any given day, we’ve got two free-to-air TV channels in Australia (7 and SBS 2.00 Wednesday) both showing the same bloody event (women’s cycling time trial)?

Lets all remember that Channel 7 have the TV rights to the games& SBS are just showing what they are given. SBS always cover football & Cycling But 7 are trying to cover every sport involving an Australian & making a c@@kup of it.
At least SBS give us a schedule for when sports are being shown unlik 7 that just seem to throw anything in anywhere.
I did enjoy the Japan Norway game. At least we got to see the whole game.
