I like to get into the on line fantasy sports games. With the football ( soccer ) season about to begin is anyone interested in having an ISG league on one of the fantasy sites. I’m already in the EPL’s home site fantasy game and also Foxsports site has leagues in both EPL and A-league.

Good bit of fun and an extra interest when watching the games.

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

No these aren’t tipping comps. They are the fantasy comps where you get a salary cap and have to pick a team under the cap. You then get pts for goals, clean sheets, goal assists, etc. I have 4 different sites currently that have slightly different comps. They are all free.

Foxsports, virtualsports,EPL home site andalso Sportal have all got comps. They have them for everything from NRl and AFL thru to the motor racing

If you can get the numbers I will be in it. Just hope a few more show some interest.

Ok. I’ve set up a league in the Sportal Premier league dream team comp. I think this is one of the better comps. They adjust the values of players on a weekly basis. Its also australian based so the cut off times are in AEST.

Set up an ID. Choose to enter a private league and use number 769713. If we don’t get 20 teams by the close of rd 1 they will fill the league up with other teams, which is cool.

As long as you have logged in and completed your squad of 15 players before the rd 1 cut off you are in. No problems if you forget about it now and again as your team will compete each week, even if you don’t touch them all year.

You get 60 player trades during the year with a maximum of 2 per week. Each week you compete against another player in your league, so the sledging and tactics will be on when you meet fellow ISG’ers head to head.

If you use your ISG name it will be easy to determine who is who. I haven’t , but will see if i can change mine now

I’ve played this one for the last couple of years so , any questions just ask.

OK I’ve managed to change my team name to “have clubs”. Since the rest of my name never appears on this site anyway, thats what everybody sees it as.

You will notice a link on the top right of the site once you get in that says something likë “jump to A-league dream team”. I have also set up a league titled ISG in the A-league comp in case anyone is interested. The league number for that one is 714773. If nobody joins it doesn’t matter as they will fill it with other players , so there is no problem.

You can have the one team in 3 different leagues if you wish, so if you wanted to have a league with workmates or such , it can be done

don’t forget to name a captain, they get double points

Come on boys put your teams down. It is actually kind of fun putting the team together. I got out my Pro Evolution Soccer 6 game and installed it again I got so into the EPL fever :-)

I’ve got no idea about EPL but I still have $5.5 million left to spend – I think Rooney is out for a few weeks with a “mystery virus” so keep that in mind guys.

the players prices are adjusted thru the season on a the strength of “3 week blocks” If a player gets a hat trick his price would go up for the next 3 weeks and then slowly start to come back down if he isn’t still scoring goals. Ronaldo got up to $20 million last year during part of the season. He was scoring a couple of goals a week.

I find that if you go for a couple of gun players and then try and pick some lower priced ones who might improve. You then offload them when their value rises and use the profits to buy the better players ( particularly if they have had a bad few weeks)

There is a quite a deal of strategy involved. figuring out who to put as captain depending on which team is playing the cellar dwellars.

It also pays to keep an eye ont he draw afew weeks ahead as not every team plays every week. No point having say 5 liverpool players if they don’t play one week. There are also some weeks when a team will play twice in the same weeks draw. You get points for both games

You get half points for your reserves, so you can hide a few on the bench but they still count. A good weekly score is anything over about 120pts. Real good scores can get up to 180+ for a week.

Im in as Faldo, have_clubs gave a good summary of the game. I did alright last year and the key seemed to be a good defence (including defenders who may score a few) plus a good midfield, look for penalty takers as well. Strikers were’nt as important

On the foxsports site you get points for goal assists as well. Makes a whole heap of difference for blokes like Fabregas who don’t score many but set up heaps.

I’m in so many of these comps I have trouble keeping track. I think 4 EPL, 2 A league,3 NRL, 2 AFL, golf, cricket, formula 1, V8s, moto GP….....

Confusion reigns!! One step short but sorted now. Where is the best place to find who is playing this weekend & who is not. For instance who is overseas with the Olyroos.

They normally post the teams on the a league site on thursday or friday of the game week.

They aren’t quite as good at posting teams. They put them up pretty close to game time and since that is late at night you have to be on the ball sometimes if you really want to check who’s playing.
