Stoner is a whinger

His comments after the race made him look like a sore loser. Rossi is racing for a World Championship not to make more friends.

Agree to an extent, at those speeds on those bikes there is no room for dangerous passes. I didn’t see the race, only the media roundup so perhaps they made it out to be worse than it was.

1-L, it is all there my friend.

they are riding motorcycles round a track at ludicrous speeds ffs. its like a soldier saying whoa, why is someone shooting at me?.....

It was a dangerous pass, something Rossi gets away with on a regular basis. Was it fair? Half way down the Corkscrew nothing is fair… was it legitimate? Yep, he got away with it so it was… I like Casey, a lot, he will learn from this and win the world championship this year, he’s tougher than Rossi realises…

Calling him a “whinger” is ignorant at best, biased and dumb at worse.

Get a life, get on a MotoGP bike, do a lap at Laguna Seca then come back and tell me he is a “whinger”... oh and win a world championship before you do it.

What’s that old saying about “Walking in a Man’s shoes.”?

Stoner didn’t win? – must be a choker then :)

(this email was purely written in jest, any resemblence to a serious comment, either living or dead, is purely coincidental)

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

It was a dangerous pass

How would you know what is a dangerous pass and what isn’t? Rossi was already past him in any case and overcooked the exit and was battling to stay on the bike, just the same as when Casey the whinger ran off with 9 laps to go. It’s called racing. Maybe you should contact the officials as they clearly don’t know what is dangerous and what isn’t but you do.

You obviously didn’t see the interview with Jeremy Burgess after the race. Is he ignorant as well?

How many laps on a racetrack have you done that makes you such an expert? And before you say….”more than you”....let’s be clear I doubt that very much.

Furthermore he refused to shake Rossis hand after the race. What a weak as piss effort.

yep your right weak as piss !! i dont think so

I thought it was a great battle… the way he acted was not called for.

yer he was faster than Rossi, but when he passed they didn’t stick.

Tough luck.

Been riding bikes since 1975, had my road license since 1977, had my Stay Upright instructors license and RTA Learner Instructor Licence, Motorcycle Journalist for 8 years on Radio, with articles published in Australian Motorcycle News, Heavy Duty and Cycle News…. I have owned ZXR750 (56,000k) Fireblade (10,000k) TRX850 (18,000k) my last bike was a VTR1000sp2, kids are now my priority along with golf, bikes will come back in time… (this is just a few of my bikes)

do you really want me to go on?

As for refusing to shake Rossi by the hand, well I know a few people that couldn’t be bothered doing that… so what? Casey was pissed off, big deal, live with it, I’m sure Rossi can….

One swing to hit the ball,
one swing to find a score,
One swing you bring to all,
And on the fairway find them.

ouch!

I think the question was ‘how many laps on a racetrack have you done?’

We all know the saying…’those who can, do, while those who can’t, teach’.

This is not some defensive riding school, this is for the World Championship.

It’s ok I’m sure you are not Jeremy Burgess’ favourite person either. Actually considering you are a motorcycle journalist I am SURE you are not his favourite person.

I have no idea how many laps I have done on a racetrack… I have lost count…. I am not a race rider, I am a motorcyclist and a motorcycle journalist. I have sat down to dinner with world champions, spent months at Phillip Island with all levels of Motorcyclists getting pissed, swapping stories and enjoying life on two wheels. I know Motorcycles from all levels and points of view.

No this not defensive riding, neither is Stay Upright, its riding motorcycles, period.

I may not have done as many laps on a race track as you (whatever that proves) but I bet I have done a LOT more miles than you (whatever that proves) at higher speeds (whatever that proves) over more time….

I know the sport as a rider, a professional, and an enthusiast.

You have made your point, you don’t like Casey Stoner, so what, grow up and talk to me at the end of the year when he once again proves he’s the best, not to mention cleanest racer in the world.

I’m sure it won’t the last time Rossi makes an enemy of the people he races with, it certainly isn’t the first time….

As for Burgess, well he has to stick with Rossi…

Yeah yeah World Champions, Knighted racers, TT winners etc etc me too. Comes with the territory.

I have also known a fair few bike and car journos over the years. Mostly all great people to have a beer with and a laugh, but I think without exception they have all been fascinated with the way a top line rider or drivers mind works. Conversely I have never met a top line rider or driver who was fascinated with the mind of a journo. Point being that come Monday morning when the journo put pen to paper it wasn’t unusual for a competitor to be completely jacked off at the way a journo may have written about his/her performance, because they are seeing it thru their journo mind which is probably 180 degrees different to the people they are writing about.

Motor racing is inherently dangerous so therefore every pass is dangerous. Just because you are a journo does not mean you necessarily know what you are talking about when it comes to motorcycle racing. You wouldn’t be the first.

I do not dislike Casey personally I just think he needs to…..’harden the f#ck up’!

Hey boys…I bet my dad’s bigger than your dad.

Don’t you love anonymous internet forums. My points decision goes to Big Bad Cliffy for not being scared to say who he is.

mind you i still think you fib about how far you hit a golf ball cliff, but thats not relevant here, lol.

ta, but I do have witnesses… re my distance… I must admit I don’t hit it as far as used too… ten years ago I was around 360m off the tee, ahh well we all grow old I suppose.

well until i’m a witness i’ll hold my ground. good luck to you if you can, unless your like that gorilla in the joke who putts 300m as well!!

Rossi is far greater than Stoner.

The pass on the corkscrew was tough but a fantastic move. And if he had stayed on the bike instead of dropping it he might have been able to repay the compliment.

Stoner should learn from the experience instead of moaning about it.

That’s all I have to say!

i have raced motocross for the last five years an at the start of the day at riders briefing it is stated “motorcycling is dangerous , you an or your equipment may be damaged or killed , people will ride outside there limit , if you dont like this leave now” seems pretty simple to me . im sure something similar happens at gp level

pack of crazy bastards anyway. I have scraped too many of them off the bumpers of cars to ever want to ride anything with 2 wheels and an engine. You could be the best in the world, but if a car gets you you stay got.

Troy Bayliss is an acquaintance of mine and he is one of the craziest people i have ever known. Mate he is a rat on a pushbike, let alone a motorbike!!! I guess you need that to reach success in that sport.

I can’t believe those road races in Ireland and the TT when you watch them on TV. ripping around at Mach 1 with stone walls on the sides fo the road!!! temporary residents of this planet i say

have to agree with all of your post!!

Political Correctness is doctrine fostered by a delusional minority and by the media, which holds forth the proposition it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

If you ask me car drivers are far worse than someone who has ridden on the road. IMO all car drivers should have to hold a bike license for a minimum of 2 years before they can get a car license.

Why? Because if you have been on something that doesn’t put you to sleep, that is advertised as being safer than the last one, isn’t a box that gives the impression that you are looked after by that box, then you are a LOT more aware of what is happening around you, and a LOT less likely to die. In Italy you can get a Moped license at 14.

I had a Firey ask me once why I rode a bike. He couldn’t understand why anyone would ride when there are so many morons on the road with a license to kill. “Geez, how do expect them to look for you when they don’t even look for a HUGE yellow truck with a siren blaring and lights flashing?” sort of says it all really.

I despise car drivers who have never ridden on the road, therefore I am still alive.

In all the years I have been riding on roads in this country I have never hit or been hit by a car. Luck has nothing to do with it, it’s about being where the car can’t get you…. I used to tell learners, “If you ain’t there, they can’t get you.”

I believe a big powerful motorcycle is FAR safer than any car, it turns faster, it stops faster, it accelerates faster, it fits into small gaps, it is more capable of getting me out of trouble than a small bike or any car….

You see the bottom line is todays properly taught motorcycle rider expects to get into trouble…. therefore they learn how to get out of it.

Car drivers believe if they do the speed limit, do as they’re told, they won’t get into trouble…. therefore they don’t know how to stay out of trouble. And when they INEVITABLY get into trouble, they invariably die, or if they are lucky, finish up as a hospital stat… the few lucky ones learn the hard way… and go home.

If you ask me

Nobody did ask you.

Probably the same as journos who think they are experts on racing having never raced themselves.

One eyed Jack, maybe you should change your forum name to Japs Eye MacKay because you’re starting to come off like a real dick.

Greg Norman, proof that lots of sex before a major competiton is good for you. ;)

C.M. I think it is simpler than that. The method of teaching in this country is to teach people how to drive a car to get a licence, not how to control a motor vehicle. In most states there is some sort of control over what motorbike a new rider can ride . This is not so for cars. You can actually learn to drive in a driving school car ( normally fuel effecient 4 cylinder , driving on city streets all the time during daylight hours. Once you get your licence you can drive a 5 litre v8 on the open road at night in the rain & if something goes slightly wrong you do not have a clue what to do. Until the australian System requires drivers to learn how to control a motor vehicle properly before you get a licence you will always have drivers on the road that do not know how to drive with everybody elses safety in mind.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine
