I just heard on your 4TAB program that you are heading down to the Open. Mate, you really have the life of Riley.

Now, as you should will have your finger on the pulse of all the "in-form" players during practice rounds and pro-ams I hope you relay all this info onto the forum before kick off next Thursday.

I expect a short list of three players and will be pretty disappointed if you don't come up with the trifecta...I mean there are ONLY 140 odd in the field.

Any early thoughts ?

Well Golfer 69 I will be down there and looking forward to the week.

There are so many chances as always but picking the trifecta should be an easy task...not. Howell is in great form and is my pick of the invited players but there are just so many others. Allenby, Appleby, Baddeley (now playing well) Parry, Lonard etc etc.

Keep listening to Radio TAB and 4BC and visiting the iseekgolf site for updates.

Did I miss something? So Allenby is playing after all? I thought he was competing in some tournament in South Africa instead and subsequently he was receiving quite a lot of publicity over his choice.

no it is the PGA in which he is not playing. He will be at the Open.

Ogilvy must be due for a win. Solid year in the States, usually performs well when he returns home and it is being played on his home track, where he has been practicing for the past week.

Bruce, are you still going to make the journey to Victoria now that "star attraction" Kenny Perry is not coming? You must be devasted...

In actual fact Jack he was not on my list of must sees anyway.

I can't imagine many will be seeking a refund at Ticketek due to his non appearance.

i think that this kenny perry guy has done a runner...
he is not coming to australia because

a. he is getting caught up in the terror hype in america and has re thought the long trip away from home

b. he has heard that he was the subject of some flak to his payment to play

c. he is doing a paul mcartney and to play golf at a time like this would be disrespectful

d. he couldnt be bothered again making the long trip

e.all of the above

what do you all think..

maybe the guy just has some genuine personal reasons. That is the most likely scenario

Guys, my mail is that Perry is coming to Victoria but is spending the entire week playing Moonah and 13B so he can finally wrap up that verdict !

If I was to win money on Ogilvie it would be betting on the days low score or most birdies...a bit more consistancy required before I put my hard earned on him to win the tournament.

I know Badds.com has played Victoria about 3000times so I think he's my early tip.
