I would like a TGM book please….anyone have a spare?

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

golfguruATiseekgolfDOTcom for a shiney new one.

Should I start reading it too? I’m just wary of paralysis-analysis syndrome…

Some people love the book. Others sleep reading it. It is not a how to by numbers, more why things work with millions of variations on offer. All The Golf School is based on it in much simplified English.

Be careful that you don’t kill your enthusiasm for the game by over doing it to soon. Above all else, make sure that you are enjoying it! Like all good things, they are best enjoyed in moderation.

My motto below is said in jest.

As far as I'm concerned, too much golf is just barely enough!

Ok then – might lay putting more science in my head. I already have too much going on in my brain everytime i address the ball. As a side note how does one change one’s view of the ball just being in the path of the swing rather than trying to smack the bejesus out of it? I think unless you have a good smooth in plane swing that will always return you to the ball each time everytime, it’s pretty hard to visualise this? This thought is not sticking in my mind….

TGM might just tie up some loose ends for you like it did to me. I think about far less after reading it. But it might not too – depends on your travels so far.

Agreed – I might have to travel a little further first before delving into TGM. It’s taken me this long to finally visualise and actually feel the glass plane in my mind – and that’s after seeing it so many hundreds of thousands of times in illustrations and books everywhere.

The only over analysis is wrong analysis.

I don’t know who said that but I am glad he did.

I found TGM to be the opposite. It was extremely difficult at first. I first perused it and then couldn’t understand 99% of what was in it. I put it back in the shelf for 6 months. During that laytime, the old subconcious was going through some of the stuff I read earlier. And when I did pick the book up again, I read it with more appreciation and understanding. That was about 5 years ago now (and 3 days with the Guru at his studio didn’t hurt the understanding process either).
Also, I think the book is complicated by the fact that Homer Kelley had to make up a lot of the terms for himself for the first time. I understand from Lynn’s site that he did this to obtain precision. And this may put a lot of people offside I guess. Once you get over that, it’s that much easier.

A legend, whoever he was. I’d rather visit a doctor or lawyer with a large bookcase than a smaller one, that’s for sure.

Book arrived…..errr yay?

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

Read the Preface and take one pill at a time.
