After my query on Northern Sydney golf coaches and the wave of support for Paul Hart, I had a lesson with him yesterday.
Not only does he know his stuff but he is a charming, self effacing bloke as well !!
It actually was not a lesson but simple guiding principles of plane, levers, rotation, flat left wrist and pressure…...we didn’t go anywhere near grip, stance, follow through etc but just concentrated on these 5….it seems a lot I know but he made it all so simple
I’ve had lessons from over 15 golf pros and this was by far the best and most insightful …..by the time we left I had hit draws, fades, straight etc….and was constantly hitting dead straight 6 irons 150m….never done this before
If anybody really wants to improve and your a high handicapper like myself then do yourself a favour….this man is extraordinary…

I am definitely planning on giving him a call sometime soon. Just need to work out when I’ll be free.

When you say you’re a high handicapper, what are you playing off?

Yes, Paul Hart is incredible and also very humble….

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

I’m at 22…...I started golf around 10 years ago (I’m now 54) and my swing has been totally inconsistent.
I can par 2-3 holes in a row and then followup with a couple of double bogies…and then I would start to work on backswing, followthrough and get myself in all sorts of trouble because I’ve always been a great reader and student of the golf swing and had lots of ideas to fall back on…..but was never able to find the best method for consistency…..
Paul did this for me….....I ducked off to the local park to practice.after our recent lesson…..and focused on plane and rotation….hit about 40 balls with just a seven iron…...140m dead straight…... just great !!
Can’t wait to get on the course to see how it works there !

I totally agree…....it was interesting watching a pro teaching while we were having our lesson and I heard the same old thing…..poor woman …she hasn’t tasted the Holy Grail !!

Welcome to a guided struggle based on Laws:)

Thanks Guru….
The issue that really needs to be addressed is accountability and “policy” ie if Paul Hart’s approach is so effective where does it fit with the way the PGA teaches their pro’s how to teach…...who sets the curriculum and how are pro’s measured on their successes (or failures)...At driving ranges all you ever see is the Pro’s CV…but no comments on teaching effectiveness, no of students, handicap reductions etc
There really does need to be better controls within the industry to get rid of the “cowboys”

Guru knows,

It is so easy to be distracted from the simple principles, even when you know them. More and more complication is the tip off that you are trolling for answers.

It is a big help when people like Adrian turn up who can see through the blizzard of misinformation. In fact he may have worked his way through the blizzard, he is a very clever man. Fine weather ahead.

Paul you must get sick of all the comments, but I too have been lucky enough to be shown the way by the Dart. Thanks Paul :-)

100% perfect is a sad neurotic state of mind. Better than yesterday is saner. - Dart, 2008.

My kids cricket coach opened tonights chat with “I heard you gave a great golf lesson.” One of the lads who work with him came by one the weekend. Nice to know that people have been given something to grasp that is not slippery stuff.

It is great to hear you guys are getting the same anti slip approach from Dart. Funny how if the info is correct that the story can be similar 3500 miles apart.

A big thanks to Admin for allow us to be of help!

I also thank the ISG crew. A life time opportunity for me.

I will not be domiciled in the Sydney region for more than six months. Humble types don’t make enough to live in the city after semi retirement.

That is of no concern to anyone I have seen for we can prosper on net or phone.

Anyone tossing up east of the Great Divide should initiate soon.

I will be returning to the big smoke on a monthly basis for the workers whom I love.

Adrian,
glad you went and seen Darty, A coach in a league of his own,
Dart is a great inspiration to me, who showed me the light not only in golf in all areas of life, it’s an honour and pleasure knowing a great person like Darty, Who has such a great world of knowledge we can all learn from. Thanks Dart for all your help not only to me but to others all over the world.
Dart I hope your writing a biography so future generations can read and learn from you, to be shown the way of life, in golf and out of golf

Adrian,
The tides are changing and in the next five years, there will be no choice but for the teaching curriculum to change. Now with science to back homer’s work the rest of the bulls..t that’s goes on will perish

awwww isn’t this cute, a self appreciation society…

Hey Dart, how much notice do you need to line up a lesson? I’m just north of Newcastle but head to Sydney fairly regularly for work and social reasons. Would love to try and line up a session in the next couple of months before you disappear out of Sydney. Thanks.

We might do a workshop in the Hunter if there are enough bums on seats:) 2008 has gotten away from us so early 09 will probably be on the cards.

Count me in, I’m very keen. Could easily get a few more too.

Always keen to review and learn more TGM principles…......so count me in …...I’m a member of a Sunday Social club and could bring a few along also….it may help reduce the swearing on the course !!!!

Bio….
That sounds all well and good but who’s driving this change….there seems to be a head in the sand approach about Golf in general….hark back to the response to the Sweeney Report…As a marketer of 25 years….and having used many Sweeney reports…..Sweeney reflects what’s happening in society….”They” need to take a look at it from a constructive perspective !!

Would love to try and line up a session in the next couple of months before you disappear out of Sydney. Thanks.

Gibbo,

Most days I need 10 mins notice. I live that close to Terry Hills Driving Range. Plus I am down there every day teaching or getting ready for Cuscawill. So yeah. (I am starting to talk the way my grand kids do).

For tuition at Terry Hills, Sydney call 0412 070 820.

Any idea which area you’re moving too? Just started TGM last night and was thinking ‘damn Terrey Hills will be too far away”.

Adrian,
The Sweeney report says it all, but now science is becoming bigger in golf then ever, with the technology out there to measure golf swings now catches pro’s out who are bulls…ting people. Times are changing in a big way. I have people coming into me to get swings checks using measured science and clients are soon learning they are getting bullsh..ted too by golf pro’s, Where I’m located the public is waking up and starting to stand up and say something, the tides are changing as I said,
I know there is a good team of unknowns behind the seens who are working on turning the industry and have no association with the P.G.A.
In five to ten years the P.G.A won’t be the leaders in teaching, there will be a new generation and non P.G.A teachers wait and see.
Don’t wory champ there is some people who do give a dam and are striving to make a change for the industry
