Admin can we have a separate forum sticky’s , ask the guru for instruction is designed for people to get advice.
Instead of worrying about what the pro’s are doing lets focus on our readers golfswings and help them,
I don’t really care what Ernie does he’s not my student, this isn’t helping my students swings, The last thing I want is my students worrying about what the pro’s are doing, I want them to focus on their golf and what their swings doing, can we please place them somewhere else.

bio: they are really popular even if they are just reference clips and not much ‘personal education’ help.

I would love to have one of all our greats ‘stickyed’ and sometime that might be possible in a different slot as you suggest.

But I’m a bit in agreement anyway – I find the sheer number of stickies clutters up the Ask Guru section, and I’m not sure people will want to be discussing those swings endlessly (maybe I’m wrong).

Maybe we just need a single sticky that directs people to a gallery of swings and other resources.

What wouldn’t be a bad thing is to take out of those stickies the good things that novices like myself could incorporate into their swing setup which would benefit their game.

Yes, there will be things in those swings which would be impossible to emulate and detrimental to some players, but if focus is just given to the good elements (Praticularly TGM elements) there could be a lot of benefit gained from them.

I know I take in more from a picture illustrating a swing than a description of what should happen etc.

Reference material such as these are invaluable particularly for those of us who are visual learners ( there are a number of learning styles).
One of the consistent failures of teachers is to recognise these different styles.

So do 2 people have whine and we lose the stickies – personally I think they add to Guru’s thread and should remain.

Student’s under personal instruction need not avail themselves of these fabulous pics – others may like to!

Having said that I think a seperate forum for all stickies would be okay but then, they wouldn’t be stickies.

I like the photos, I like ‘em a lot – just don’t think they need to be permanently front and centre. Sorry for expressing an opinion.

I personally agree with Bio and Muntz, they are a tad annoying when all you really want to do is check up on technical “Ask Guru” information… Especially seeing that they are at the top and there are SO many of them. Plus everyone provides pics in the threads anyway to express points.

Maybe putting them at the end of the section or putting all into one “sticky” folder would be a good compromise?

Maybe all of the photos could be combined into one thread and locked down as a sticky. then they are there for reference, and if someone wants to discuss them they can refer back easily enough.

As far as LD prep had a crappy week last week but it has equalised itself with todays session was flushing it today! I was down to my last driver but my heads have finally arrived and am building 6 drivers tomorrow! Phew… was sweating!

Less than 2 weeks now mate, can’t wait just to compete – try and beat my PB!

Thanks for kind offer of lifts mate. Actually staying with LD mate, flying in Sat morning, game at Colonial maybe, catch up with boys. Quiet (ish) night Sat night, compete Sunday then it should be beer o’clock Sunday night!

These Stickies are relevant to the “Ask Guru” section of the forum and, so, should remain therein and not require a search to find them.

Being Stickies they, as in ever other forum, should be left at the head of the section and not buried out of sight where they would soon become out of mind.

It is no hardship to skip the Stickies to get to the threads below – even for you antipodeans. (SMILE)

I think the stickies are great. They are a very convenient reference when you want to see how other top golfers do things. They should probably be in a seperate thread on their own so as not to cluter up this section. The more, the better IMO….for what its woth ;-)

In regard to this “sticky”situation I would add this,while it is good to see how the pros swing the club,we could simply goto “tube” and veiw them.However,in saying that I could really see a benefit if the two Pauls could put up a sticky each,ie one for swinging and the other for hitting and be in some numerical and sequential order that people could make simple and quick reference to.
These “sticky,s” could be a permanant fixture as it would pertain to job at hand,”ask Guru”
