Hi guys,

I am just wondering if anyone can suggest any Pro’s who provide good tutorial and good value.

I am based in Perth and i know the guru is based in perth too so i am sure some of you guys could suggest a few names. Essentially i am looking for someone to have an complete look at my game over a space of 4-5 weeks which will leave me the tools to improve.

Any ideas would be great. Cheers.

I think you answered you own question perfectly.

For tuition at Terry Hills, Sydney call 0412 070 820.

Guru would be money well spent. Maybe a tad more expensive than the average bear but you’ll save a heap in the long run.

Guru,

Are you based The Vines??? And what is the pricing structure for your tuition (if you are allowed to answer that on here).

Any suggestions of good names south of the river?

Cheers guys

chappo_no17 drop me a note on golfguruATiseekgolfDOTcom and I will flip you a note back. South of the river Ross Metherall (apols if spelling is wrong there) at Collier Park gets a good write up from many on the ISG forum.

Chappo,
Do you, think you handle playing off scracth, if so go get a lesson of guru,

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

Guru is not based at the Vines. There is a Golf Professional there who is employed by the owners of the Vines he pays a substantial lease to use the facilities (it is not me). I wonder why this has never been stated when the question is raised.

Ping:

I have never claimed to work in any way with The Vines Resort nor do I use its range. As you rightly say the local pro has his patch and I do not ever wish to intrude upon it.

If people ask where I am based, The Vines is geographically and work wise correct.

Here I sit at “The Vines” looking over the 5th hole typing this. I live and teach at The Vines in my studio, as opposed to The Vines Resort and their range, and up at Chequers I have the run of the course and facilities. I have been a member at TV for over a dozen years, done committee time too, though have my membership leased out to someone who has time to use it!

Hope that clears up your patch of fog.

Guru I didn’t have any patch of fog or misunderstanding as to your situation at all and know that you work at Chequers. However on this post and some previous posts I don’t think it was made as clear as we have now made it

ping – You are sadly ill informed….if you have an agenda to push (which it seems you do) then please get your facts straight. I have stood in guru’s backyard and he was clearly at The Vines…end of story.

I am not misinformed nor do I have an agenda to push I was merely replying to chappos post “are you based at the Vines”. Whilst I appreciate that the Guru lives and works there (at his house) I believe it is only fair to the person employed at the Vines Resort Golf Complex as their Teaching Professional that it was made clear

Well it just has been eh?

Yep

Thanks ping – the thing is in 7 years of running this forum no-one has ever stood up for a local pro unless they are the local pro in question or a family member. Why would this be of any concern to you otherwise – doesn’t really add up.

Sorry guys,

Didn’t mean to start a cat fight “meow”. I understood that the guru worked from home and when asking are you based at The Vines it was “geographically speaking” not “golf course speaking”. If anyone wasn’t aware that the guru wasn’t based at The Vines (golf course speaking ;) ) they sure are now.

Cheers.

I am a pro who is friends with the Pro in question. Part of the reason I raised the point was after five years of trying to establish his business there the Vines have completely changed the goal posts on him. The other reason is that Chappo’s question wasn’t answered

ping: Yep those goal posts move about as much as the members ones. Hardly fair at all when trying to run a business and put food on the table.

Chappo’s question was answers in the appropriate manner, off the forum.

cheers

Where do you work ping?

Prefer not to mention the course but I teach at one of the major members only clubs in Perth

There we go – agenda established. Thanks ping, we finally get down to the reason behind the unusual interest in this topic.

Sorry I don’t understand, there is no agenda I don’t want mention where I work as this is Guru’s forum. The reason I have visited this site for a number of years is because I am constantly trying to learn and Guru is a great source of info. I’m not trying to upset anyone or generate any business for myself on the contrary I have sent two clients to the Guru previously

Has nothing to do with your business ping – it has to do with you making sure everyone knew that guru didn’t work at The Vines.

You said there was no agenda to your posts but subsequently we find out your mate is a pro there and is no doubt taking exception to guru taking business from him.

My point was I have never seen anyone stand up for a pro unless there was an agenda – which in this case there was – you are his mate and he is crying poor.

Maybe he needs to learn a bit about self-promotion – does wonders for your business.
