Hi Guru,

Can you please let us all know about what tournaments around the world you have won, your playing bio so to say. I am very interested as I am sure so many other people would be as well. PS: This will include dates/tours/official prizemoney etc.. Am I attacking you? Not at all mate. Just wishing to see some stats for all to see.

are you having a go at him?

why?whats ur problem with ubs?

I have no problem whatsoever.. just asking a simple question? Like all forum users here, ask a simple question, wait for a simple answer?

No worries,

I won about 10 one and two rounders over a ten year period. Best 4 round finish was Third behind Bob Charles in the Spalding Masters and 14th in the Australian Open behind Nichlaus Palmer Player and Crampton.

I shot 62 seven times. I played of +2 at the age of sixteen, won two Club Championships at Katoomba and Leura and a Blue Mountains Open. Conscription at 18 gave me two Australian Army Championships. I really enjoyed playing with and around world Champions every year for 15 years. I played in 15 Australian Open Championships and had the best time.

All of which I consider irrelevant to the information that Guru and I have learned since 1980 when I discovered TGM and Guru a little later.

Our intention is to save the average golfer the pain of going through the misinformation that is normal teaching. I very thankless job except for about 150 guys on this site that make it worth while.

If you had evaluated the information instead of what you did, you might be one too.

Dart
Pretty impressive!!

I’ll second that!

What can one say?...Enjoy

You are kidding yourself if you think you can make it without hard-work.

Had he won none to this day it would not have made a difference in my eyes on his ability to coach as he proves here post after post that he has got the goods. Having said that, very impressive stats there! I’ve won about 6 one rounders to this day, sadly they are all at club level :-(

100% perfect is a sad neurotic state of mind. Better than yesterday is saner. - Dart, 2008.

Lame a Dart

Give us the stats you got from Butch, Leadpoison, Haney, Flick, McLean and the rest.

If those stats are the criteria by which you measure a guys golfing knowledge and teaching ability then you just don’t “get it”.

Thanks gentlemen, that’s very kind.

I think the real genius is Homer Kelley but it take a lots of looking to see it.

Even looking gets better with practice.

I can attest to Dart’s statement about “misinformation that is normal teaching” from personal experience. Had lessons from a number of Sydney’s “best” coaches some years ago (The Australian, Pymble, NSW, etc.), and found them not only contradicting each other, but often themselves from one lesson to the next. I would hope that things have improved since then, but from your statement and what I’ve heard, maybe not. Maybe this site is one of the few available sources of good information.

Possibly a reflection of the state of the profession and the available knowledge at the time Paul, but it’s good and refreshing to see a person of your tender years keeping an open mind up to date, and willing to share it all with fellow addicts. Great stuff.

Impressive statistics indeed Dart, well done :)

I really do enjoy heading out and trying out the recommendations I get from ISG… as has been stated by previous posters, misinformation abounds with coaches etc. The most telling example I’ve had of that thus far has been 9 out of 10 pro’s telling me I’d need 2 degrees of upright on my clubs, and only 1 telling me 2 degrees flat. You can guess which one was correct.

I just picked up Hank Haney’s ‘The Only Golf Lesson You’ll Ever Need’, and I tell ya, it’s a pretty big book for just one lesson. That said, the section on bunker play was great for me, and tonight I’m going to find out if the ‘slice repair’ section works. I’ll keep my eye out for anything with Homer Kelley on it though…

The test for any “tip” is if it consists of a FLW, lag and an on plane motion:)

could’ve sworn I posted on this :?

Wouldn’t it be nice if you said it once and everyone heard it.

Oh well, maybe a few more times.

I wonder if Shakespeare could have said it better.

What was Shakespeare’s handicap?

thats easy!

He reckoned the drive was mightier than the putt – or something like that :)

Allegedly that he could not cut it and that Sir Francis Bacon was his “ghost” writer.

However, rumours abound and I do not want to be seen to be spreading them

Brings new meaning to “Saving your Bacon.”

I would like to know how many tournaments Jim Maclean, David Leadbetter, Burch Harmon, Steve Bann, Gary Edwin, Dave Pelz, ect etc etc won.

Teachers are way different to players always have been – always will be.

If you can’t do – teach :)

Haha, just kidding, Dart, Guru et al!

hehe

I second, or third on tenth, what has been said the quality of instruction on this site is second to NONE.

I went for my first walk around a course with friends in october last year for a mates b’day. Once we were out of site they let me have a hit every now and again and that consisted of air swings and shanks and a swing technique that was most amusing to my friends.

Shortly after I’ve found this site and only through golf school and golf instruction I no longer shank, well once at the range, and hit everything, exept driver and 3 wood, fairly consistantly and I haven’t had any physical lessons yet… heck I haven’t even had a game yet, very bad timing to take up a time consuming game.

Not that it would worry you dart but the subsequent lack of posts would suggest that he’s better at fishing than golf or his usual haunt is boring as batsh#t.
