Here is a thread for 2008s ‘biggest improver’. Throw in your Handicap as of Jan 1st and for a bit of fun lets have the biggest gross improvement of handicap and the biggest percentage improvement.

Bragging rights for Jan 1st 09 if someone wishes to keep scores out there!

2007 has been a great year. Lets make 08 even better.

Good luck and lets see how big this thread can get!

I’m in and with a good chance as I have heaps of room for improvement with 27.4. I’m looking forward to 08.

Not a good game for has -beens, but I like to watch.

Hey no fair how can we compete with 27 markers ,or later in the year some little junior starting on 36. I,m on 16 so no chance but what the hell, used to being burgled by long markers.
How long you been on 27 frankyb

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

You didn’t read PERCENTAGE improvement. If I can get from 6 to 3 that would be 50%. If I get to one with my new hip that would be 83% improvement. Let me see him get to 4.5

Ah there are those sharp eyes of a Dart thrower again:)

Frankb: The Cut Wednesday. Drop me an e-mail to golfguruATiseekgolf.com if you can make it Wed morning…. hoping they have a few slots open as there a few social types going for a biff…..if we cannot get in there will do somewhere else close by. All picking up ISG vouchers for the play.

Had one junior this year went from 25 to 12 & still breaking nett par often

I only just got serious about the game about two months ago pom, only got my cap mid december so the next 6 months will set the standard for me. I think going from 27 to 20 could be comparable to you going from 16 to 14, I’m sure a lot of others can comment to let me know if i’m right.

Probably easier for you.

Great Idea,

Jan 05 I was off 19.5
Jan 06 was off 14

Current Handicap as of Dec 31st 2007 is 11.0

Bring on singles in 08!

end 2006 – 23.9

end 2007 – 23.4

goal for end 2008 – 14

end 2006: 6.8, low score of 73

end 2007: 5.7, low score of 71

end 2008: 4.5, low score of 69

Current h’cap 10.8.

My old car and I have similarities regarding age and condition and I suspect that like it, the intended destination may be quite different to the actual end-point.

2008 will be (hopefully) my first full year of golf since about ‘92 so it will be interesting. Best scenario would be around 6 but 8 to 9 is more realistic.

Having watched The Biggest Loser finale last night, I was amazed at how determined the contestants were. If we dedicated the same amount of effort with guidance I wonder just how low we could really go without being anal about it!

I for one would love to see the oppposite TV show..the biggest gainer. There is just nothing out there for us weeds hahahahahaha.

Hey Guru;

How about you write the code for ISG and i’ll go hit a few balls? That ought make you pork up a bit ;)

hi M, between exotic beaches, Xmas and coding I can see that chair getting a workout for sure:)

Well like frankyb this was the year I decided to get serious and go from a twice a year hack to a bit more serious.

So joined the local club and got my handicap.

So it is 27.4.

I have now had a few lessons and worked on my swing which is getting a lot more consistent.

So for 2008 hopefully things will start to drop.

Cheers all and all the best for the new year.

Dave

Started 2007 on 21.5 – currently sitting on 10.4, so more than happy with the year. Goal for 2008 is to be around 6-7 by the end.. Good luck all for the year ahead.

22 for me, with a goal of 12 by the end of ‘08, 10 if I can make it. ‘08 will be the first serious year of golf for me, I’m a relatively recent convert.
Seconding John’s wishes, best of luck to all for 2008.

End 05’ 16
End 06’ 12
End 07’ 8
Goal End 08’ 3

Hopefully you are right pom but only for the first 10, then it will slow up I’m sure.

Isn’t it much better to call yourself a player instead of a hacker Dave, good luck to everyone with their goals for 08.

Start 07 – 27
End 07 – 17.7 (hit 39 pts off 18.3 but awaiting confirmation from golflink)
Next year – 10-12 (shoot for the stars i says!)
