help needed with pitch elbow & right wrist

Hi all

have been working on my pitch elbow, mostly doing it in slow mo to really get the feel

I have noticed though that when I really compress the muscles involved and get that elbow into the “skip the stone” position

that the club face has opened and my right palm is facing sky ward and right thumb is pointed to the right as the weight of the club has sort of forced it there

this just does not seem right, someone has mentioned the wrist needs to be in the “stop sign” position????

to me that means from the top, start moving into pitch elbow position and turn left hand knuckles sort of down ?

confused totally, can anyone shed some light here

thanks in advance

Winnie, the positions that you describe are positions the player passes through as a consequence of deliberate actions he or she does. In the context of the golf swing they are not important. What is important are the actions that the player deliberately does to cause the body to pass through these positions. The golf swing has many inconsequential movements, usually those that we can see quite clearly. What we don’t necessarily see are the actions that cause those particular movements. If the golf swing was as easy as replicating what we see an elite player do as he swings, then we would all be great players. This is why we need to be shown through instruction, the key elements of the golf swing. Trying to learn the golf swing from a computer is not the way to reach your goal. All you will get is confused and more than likely the wrong swing concept.

Totally ignorant about almost everything except golf.

Winnie, the right palm should be face up to the plane.
The club face should have been set in impact address to be in line with the left arm, radial-ulnar axis and should not be of concern anywhere else but impact address, before you adjust the address to take it away from wherever you like.
Sounds like you are right on it.

Have a read of the Golf School articles from the bottom at least up through Impact Fix. That should explain it.
