Hi ISGer’s,
On Saturday 2nd of February at 3pm, Albert Park Driving Range has invited 8 ISGer members to come down for a 2 hour session on Trackman at a special rate of $50 pp with Craig Spence (Australian Masters), Bryan Ferguson and myself.

During the session Craig and Bryan will go over the D-plane and ball flight laws, with the data captured help you understand your swing path and face relative to your path. Using the Trackman numbers they can help you understand out comes of your golf shots and how to learn to develop starting lines to hit your target and also how to shape the ball by understanding your ball flight laws you produce.

They will also do a distance combine to measure how far you hit each club.

It will be a fun day please put your name below if you are interested in attending.

zen, for this exercise what sort of balls mate??

any one else heading home to get married??

You can use the ball you use if you like, although using range balls Trackman gives a comparisons on how far the ball goes with all the different ball compressions. All of at first said yeah right, so they put it to the test to find out how accurate these comparisons were.
They hit range balls and printed out the comparisons of the Pro V1 numbers should be. The guys then hit ProV1, they did a comparison and compared notes, Trackman was bang on the money.
When I was on it the other day I was hitting range balls and it automatically spate out the numbers, I dropped a penta down and it was on the money.
They can even detect wind with the doppler radar and how fast the wind is by the frequency waves. They can calculate how far the ball went if there was no wind and how far it did go into this head wind.

Hey Scott,

With regards to your own ball vs range balls.

I’m assuming there wont be time for this on the day, but gee it would be nice to flick through all the different compressions to see what ball we ‘should’ be playing.

Vin,
By knowing your swing speed and spin rate etc you can look online at the specs on what ball to use to match your rpms and swing speed. :)

This day isn’t about choosing a ball it’s about learning about your personal ball flight laws. If you were getting fitted for clubs the ball you use would be taken into consideration. You can do comparisons with range balls and a ProV1 etc. Trackman has the capabilites to do all this.

Hi Scott,

I’m sorry but I have to pull out of this. I shouldn’t have played on Friday as I have now really stuffed my neck.

Even if it comes good by Saturday I don’t want to risk it as I have 6 international flights over the next 2 weeks. I don’t want to get on a plane with a stuffed neck !

Spewing.

No worries Vc,

See every one Saturday at 3 be a great day Craig Spence is always good to listen too.

By the end of the session our perceptions on how to work the ball will change. Once you understand your path you’ll be able to work the ball either way just by knowing how to change face angle.

The old belief is path was king the ball started the direction of path.
With D-plane club face is king. If you know what your path is. By learning closed club face open or square. If you open the face to your path the ball will fade, square face to path. Ball flies straight and closed to path draw. Then all you need to learn is start lines to start the ball. The ball starts basically where the face points.

This is a basic over view to give you a simple understanding.

Scott, this is confusing to me,I have forever pointed clubface at intended target chose my swing path…...the ball (for me) has always started somewhat on the same “path” and “ends ” up on intended target…......never really had any heartaches this way,.........the way “D”plane has it doesnt make sense to me.

Im not saying it is right or wrong…...Im just not understanding…can you clear up my poor addled mind cheers
