Im not sure this is irrelevant to my swing, but after playing a couple days straight i can narrow down the pain to one spot, the bottom of my ribcage on the left side

With people who have excessive side bending on the downswing you get compression of the spine. Instead of your upper body rotating at 600 to 800 degrees per second. You would be side bending at 600 to 800 degrees per second. As you could imagine you are putting a ton of force on the back and abs.
Ok so how does this cause pain around the rib cage?
In your core muscles you have transverse muscles, these muscles are designed for rotational movement. When you side bend these muscles are getting stretched opposite or against the way they are designed to function. The pain you are getting is caused from muscles tearing. (like doing a gym work out and you get sore). In time this can lead to an injury where you will inflame the muscles and tear it, this puts golfers out for about 6 to 8 weeks. It does repair although in time this will happen again unless the golfer makes changes.

Sorry for the late reply, But thanks for all the tips! I’ve been playing some good golf of late and now im just fine tuning my game for the Tas open next week. Hopefully the swing holds up!
