No stink I take a blue pill before a game to stiffen up the wrist to create a solid groundforce thingy

Got any spare pills?

What is this golf game you talk of?

im loving the constant hackers giving golf instructional advice…..

its some funny shit.

Hacky, this isn’t ‘Ask a Pro’.

Yes, I’m a hacker. So everyone should take anything I say with a grain of salt.

The OP asked how he can get a FLW at the top of his backswing. The answer is to just do it. There’s no need for pronation, supination or castration. For most readers, there’s too much technical crap which turns a simple action into something so complicated that achieving it becomes just about impossible.

As you’re a competent golfer, Hacky, do you have further advice for the OJman?

well your post leads in ” FFS – how can you not get a FLW?” or something like that

comes across like you must do it so well yeah?

not the first time either, Ive played with you before, and seen you putt and chilli dip a good handful of chips etc, but yet you constantly give putting and chipping advice in a “golf instruction” section of a forum. I find it very ironic.

I got nothing against you mate as a bloke, but you dont hold back slapping out your crap punctuation and spelling angles to us constantly here, so I’ll give you a bit back. I dont recon a dude with your ability, inconsistency and playing level should be giving “instructional” advice to others that may not know any better.

Each to their own, as I said, I have no dramas with you as a bloke, but it shits you to tears that we dont run spell checks and midnight thesaurus sessions and you let that be known. So, from my view this shits me to tears about you.

long, short, left and right = ALL FINGERED

FLW plus a square clubface, OB. A square clubface means square to the plane line. The leading edge is parallel to the plane line when the club shaft is parallel to the plane line at the top. A good guide on squareness when the hands reach shoulder level is if you can see one knuckle of the left hand and two knuckles of the right hand ; which is the reverse of a neutral grip at address (2 knuckles of the left and one of the right). Hang in there OB, we have to conform our bodies to the clubhead, not the other way around.

The man who hits at the ball rather than through it has no sense of rhythm.

Raz, firstly I acknowledge that you know so much more about this than I’ll ever know.
Plane line in direction of target, club face perpendicular to the plane line (target direction) at impact (without complicating things with closing clubface, etc.). What does it really matter where the club face is pointing anywhere else in the swing, provided the overall action is good and the swing is repeatable? Note that proviso.

There have been many accomplished golfers with unorthodox swings. Why should everybody have to conform to orthodox processes and details? If the swing is good, why not adjust the club face angle at setup so that the working swing becomes effective? There’s more than one way to skin a cat, so they say.

I understand your viewpoint Hacky, and you’re quite right.

Just because I have some difficulty doing what I know should be done doesn’t mean I know nothing about it. Haven’t you heard the old idiom “if you can’t do it, teach it”? Unfortunately, there are a heap of highly skilled golfers who can’t teach. And slow motion filmography has shown that many don’t do as they say they do.

If you can help me to be more athletic and better co-ordinated, then please assist me. I would take on Zen’s assistance if my budget permitted.

Exactly OB. A FLW and square position at the top is the ideal in an uncomplicated swing where the wrists and elbows are locked in place and the pivot swings the arms and club. This is a simplistic view of course. The OP asked for assistance on how to get in the position. He must think that is the answer to his swing issues.:)

Totally ignorant about almost everything except golf.

mate speaking to the wrong person if you want help to be more athletic LOL

My intention was to help him with just that position at the top. It seemed important to him. Even a hacker like me can get a FLW at the top. It’s a start.

But you hit the ball so much better and longer than I do, so you must have something.
