Hey guys, I have been working my butt off these past few months to get back in the swing of things (so to speak). Today I could really see it really start moving in the right direction (yea I went out and played at Fox Hills Swimming Pool). It wasn’t till about the 5th hole where I hit a shot that didn’t rate at 9+/10 for contact (crowned/hooked a driver OOB :[ ) but besides those weird teeshots (was about 3 of them) I couldn’t fault my contact. Let me tell you that scoring wasn’t easy as we had to putt through water alot and the hole was submerged on a couple of times. So scoring 49 on the front wasn’t something I will lose sleep over (was 2 over handicap). Had to DQ myself sadly as both partners left after somewhat of a comedy of errors. We have a stream that runs infront of the 13th tees (was a raging torrent today, and one of the blokes I was playing with had his brand new driver slip out of his hands and go straight in so my other partner climbs down the muddy embankment and began to slip on the mud.. So he was clawing his way back up while the other bloke (who’s driver it was) jumped in and almost got carried away! But he got his driver back. So we had two blokes, one who was soaked from the neck down, and one who had 2 tonnes of mud up his front side.. Quite the site. I remained dry (well relatively) and suggested that all we had to do was collect the driver upstream, where the ground was not so steep and the water much shallower. O well, live and learn!

great work mrc sounds like some tough conditions i am in the same boat as you, i have only recently returned to golf after a long time off (and was never very good) but have been hitting the practice range a few times a week. yesterday i really saw the improvement from 5-6 weeks ago i was hitting 36+ over, to yesterday where my 9 hole round contained 5 bogeys. the feeling of connection was great. sure my mind got to me when i realised i was only 4 over after 4, and i tripled and quadrupled the par 3s (!) but im closing in on 100 at great speed, and my real goal of a sub 20 over round is looking good before years end and i finally got the hang of my 60 degree wedge yesterday. before i got it i was averaging a chip in per 9 holes, and yesterday i got that back, much to my playing partners dismay, who was hoping to make up several shots on one hole. the look on his face as a high flighted chip meandered right to left and sunk! priceless overall great day. and the weather was perfect keep on practicing. it works!

Range to see how your brain and hands are connecting. If its ugly or just does not feel quite right then get a helping hand to save yourself some time and effort sourcing the bug.
