Poor Stuart. Thought he would have had some commentary by now from his fans:)

in frame 8, he has a bent left wrist.. is it still optimal to maintain a FLW even at that point in the follow through, or doesnt it matter?

If you are a better player then clubhead throwaway is not an issue you have to deal with. You can stay on plane with either a Flat Left Wrist or the mirrror bent left wrist (and so flat right wrist) past both arms straight position.

Using Stuarts look there is tons of room for an average player to have major power leakage into the ball to get to this on plane condition in the follow through.

So its an option for sure but you must know its consequences.

The swing looks perfect to me….he’s using the J33P driver head like me:)...and he’s a Victorian!!...I’m a fan..lol

In frame 8 the shaft is also a bit off plane i think, a bit hard to tell with the camera angle. More vertical than the plane I guess, do you think a flatter wrist would get him more on plane Guru?

down and out…did ya get that?

I have fretted about the same thing with dozens of greats and concluded that even the best swing crap from time to time.

Hogan, Norman, Tiger and others have fluctuated between flat and bent after impact. I have never seen Nichlaus, Player or Trevino Bend their left wrist into the finish.

I don’t push it but they seem to use it like a double guarantee. Hogan almost never re cocked as the same thing.

Whats with the hair…trying to look young….angle on the photos is not that good and makes it hard to appreciate what a great swing he has. Love the extension at impact

I agree, the hair takes all the credit, less conspicuous would be better. Great bloke, he has my support, do well this summer in Australia. Chez

Would love to see 3 more photos between frame 6 and 7.

So have we worked out if he is a swinger, hitter or switter ?

Because of the length of backswing and orientation towards the finish swinging is indicated. Likewise his sharpish angles and sequenced release just about guarantee it. If we could see his hinge motion as a full roll, that would clinch it.

I don’t think there are many hitters in world class unless the shot calls for it and if anyone is switting, they would not make the cut.

You do see some switting on the last nine holes as guys start to choke. A good player choking will go to a punch shot or a cut shot almost instantly, instinctively. It was a pity Greg Norman couldn’t do it. He may have won three more Majors.

Cheers i have heard from other forums Apples being described as a hitter.

Swinger in my eyes.

We associate a sequenced release, horizontal hinge, standard wrist action, active left wrist, longitudinal acceleration, rope handle technique, a quick start down and arc of approach with swinging.

Which one of these does Stuart not have.

The guy is a flusher Dart?

Most of the time he is. He is a good model for the sort of stuff we would like people to look at.

He swing a lot like Guru.

Haha, If I had his swing, I might have a better bank balance. Something tells me SA has a better practice ethic than me:) The look might be similar but the precision level held within is in a different league.

That may be true, but…........YOU CAN TEACH IT….....he can’t!!!

:)

Without researching it.. is he very powerful?
I mean i’m not an expert, far from it. But it seems like.. a very weak swing? Or have i completely missed something

One of the longer hitters on tour Kiwi.
