Devon, We always lead with the hips etc, but we always MONITOR the hands. The feels and interpretations get trick for a while. The body is the engine the arms are the gear box and the hands are the sights. They only supply precision of storage and delivery of the assembled and loaded power package so the release is better. Chap 6. Any Lag is Lag. You don’t need lots, just some. A little more is a little safer. A lot more is a waste of effort in the short term.

Dart, Is there a likely possibility of confusing yourself with throwaway – thinking it is an OTT shoulder? My old pro wanted me to swing flatter, flatter, FLATTER! to try and cure an OTT move. But, and this is just a theory that may be way off – hence the question – if you get the right elbow so far round and down that it gets stuck on the right hip, then the club will throwaway to get around and onto the ball. The throwaway might create a similar impression (divot direction, ball flight) as a classic OTT where you are well clear of the right hip but have thrown the right shoulder forward and round (not back and down per TGM).

Devon, Roughly, the shoulders go round and round – the arms go up and down. If the shoulders go round before the arms go down, you are OTT. If the arms go down before the shoulders go round you are UTT, under the top. So we have to get them firing at the right time. Timing vertical and horizontal components are our biggest worry. See 2-N-0, 2-N-1, 2-J-3 and 7-23. Most of us fire the body and forget arms and hands. Steering is the main reason. We think we should swing straight with the clubface square. Effective is to roll a curving swing into the correct impact. Good players feel and say this because the release of the hands is so quick they don’t feel it and they think they swing straight because they are feeling from the hands or grip but point of view. The club does swing in a straight line from that point of view. To learn, swing to left and right and notice the difference in body and arm timing. Do it for ever because you will forget. It is unnatural to swing around to hit straight. Pros also. The new guys have to use some sort of rotation and inside to inside feel, as much as they hate it for a while.

And success again today in a major event…a couple of minor tech judgemental errors that had a bigger impact than i realized at the time, but now you can guarantee that learning is well and truly embedded! A fantastic result nonetheless at every level and i will continue to use that “process” forever. May the force be with you oh great one :-)

Maggie, Demonstrating ability is just my purpose for the goals and plans I make. I do it to show off. Sometimes it is worth seeing. Sometimes I shock myself and I love it. I always ask what do you want, why, then how to do we do it. Why is important because we will ask ourselves at some desperate time. Best to have it answered well before things get tough. Also people often do things because someone else wants them to. My number one hate. The only reason I teach anything is to get people self determined; and maybe others determined too – control your environment.

Excuse my interupt, but gee i relate to and agree with this post. Cheers and regards dart, rest easy.
What would you do if there were nobody around… |

thanks Dart but there is a bit of a disconnect in my head right now with this, so I’ll need more help and there’s undoubtedly more to be shared :) Once we have the judgement issue sorted, when in the zone, it’s easy to show off your ability, you ask for backspin, you get it, you look for a landing spot, you get it, much to your surprise. You get an audience, you still do it, amazingly and love it! This is where I thought this was going. But from what I read I’m not sure… I will add, I’m committed, determined and KNOW I can lower my scores to my personal goal and now am showing myself I’m getting there – hooray! Two notions running alongside each other…can you connect them for me or not? as the case maybe :)

The judgement cycle is a stand alone thing and applies to how you or you mind operate. Mental fundamentals. The goal – purpose – plan – ideal scene – statistics and valuable final product apply to the job. Management fundamentals.

Dart mate, your thread is like one of those books I open from time to time, and whatever is on the page seems to be what I need to hear. I just joined a new club, nice course, working on my game etc. Mental fundamentals! That’s what I’m learning most. I need to know and control myself and how I apply myself to the game. Made a few mistakes today, all to do with judgement, not physical ability. I know they can be related, but it’s becoming more like if I can control my mind, I can control my golf. Anyhow, hope you’re well. I think of you every time I play golf :)

Stink, Well said. I find it hard to believe but my biggest trouble is simply keeping my mind quiet and non reactive. If I hit a crap shot my mind explodes with a million reasons why. I know I should proceed as normal but find myself searching. Then I check if I was fully tuned in to the shot. Invariably it is a simple shot I was trying to do something with.

Stink, I said to Dart I can’t believe it, how I totally misunderstood clear keys by not fully applying it to it’s full potential. I never grasped it’s full power and should have understanding how tapped in the head we all are when we playing. Now I understand how very important clear keys are. It’s training you to go from conscious to automatic and after a years training to stay on automatic. Then you can just play and become creative let your skills come out with out thinking. You just do it you don’t know how or need to know how. It stops us slipping back into conscious thoughts, doubts anxieties kicking in. This all made perfect sense why when I had an accident and forgot how to play golf. I trained myself to become automatic when I came back I tried to remember how I played. That one thought trying to remember destroyed me. It’s where ZenoLink saved me, it trains me to be automatic. Now just need to apply clear keys to it’s full potential to stop my head getting in the way of a good golf swing.

thanks Dart, I now get the difference between mental fundamentals and management fundamentals or that there is a difference :) As you’ve explained brilliantly the mental fundamentals in Judgement Development, and I have found that advice to be as powerful if not more so than the cks, I would like to tap your experience for the management fundamentals and demonstrating your game. cheers

Maggie, As I said my real game is to get people onto their own game, that is why Iseek is so useful to me. The way the Management Fundamental works is simple but essential and everyone seems to screw it up. So we have a goal, hopefully our own and not bequeathed to us by someone else. Purpose really makes it your idea. Plan requires a bright idea that will/might do the job.Ideal scene is there to make sure you don’t short change yourself and to compare your progress to. Statistics is where you find out if you are kidding yourself or not. There are things to do when you are going well and things to do when you are going badly and all stages in between. Going well you consolidate, going badly you change. Almost everyone does the opposite. They always change a winning game and stick with a looser. Big subject but simple. This is where the action is. This is where you change your plan or even your goal but never your purpose. The purpose is what you are really doing all your life. The VFP should be a payoff that come out of the project. Something you can buy an ice cream with or a house. Once again we are after perspective. The way you see it and what you want. I have had people say bugger golf I want to be an artist. Luv’em !

very profound and I’ll need to ponder this for a bit I reckon but in the meantime, I wonder if you can explain this a little further please…otherwise amazing as usual! The VFP should be a payoff that come out of the project. Something you can buy an ice cream with or a house. Once again we are after perspective. The way you see it and what you want.

Maggie, People get f..ked in the head or FITH. This is all about getting it right in the head or RITH. Then we have a chance. If what you want – goal, has something worthwhile at the end, we can move on, because we know it is the end and something else should start. You have more wherewithall to go on. What is crazy is starting something and not know when it is over and keep doing the same thing – for ever. Start the job, do what ever it takes, then finish the job and start a new one. It give a great feeling of satisfaction. To complete a cycle of action gives you a building block to make something else. Anything else. Done that what next ! You beaudy :)

A man with a plan! Have I got it? For Management fundamentals – a purpose, driven by a series of achievable goals, with interlocking plans including success and not-so-much success contingency strategies, relevant assessment techniques and achievement rewards umbrellaed by passion, enjoyment and flexibility. For Mental fundamentals see topic Judgement Development with a value-add relating to controlling partners, gallery, opponents etc. Have I missed anything? Regardless, I’m pretty sure there’s a book in that :) Real, hard won wisdom….many thanks for sharing with us!

Maggie, The pleasure is all mine. So nice to find someone who likes it. The books have already been written, by someone else, and you have not missed a thing. Indeed you added to my slender grip on the subjects. This stuff is only recognisable because you already know it. The difference is it is organised so you can. And yes, now that I know someone will listen, there is a little bit more that I promised someone. A bit about investigation that I like. Chat soon.
