Thanks AB, glad it helped. We can learn a lot from dads but also from the little ones…

HP what’s the tune on the ‘golf tips’ video intro? The one with the whistling.

Lol. Well the ‘casting’ is working a treat. I setup with driver and say to myself, ‘let’s go fishing’ and then whistle. ( da dah, dah dah) or ‘golf tips’ theme. :)

Hi guys, any tips/drills for getting the ball to the hole on the green? Last 2 weeks Ive been leaving them short way too much. Yesterday was the deal breaker, it’s like Ive completely lost the ability to read the speed of the green or the ability/confidence to putt with any discernible speed. Thanks.

Hey bushy, take a long look at your target after you get everything set. When you look back to the ball, leave your focus on your target. Focus and where you are looking are two different things. If you were throwing a ball to a target, you would be focused on your target, it’s no different in golf.

Thanks for that HP, it may be as simple as that. When I initially got the problem, I thought it was because our greens were renovated and I lost the feel/speed for them. But I played excellent, smooth greens at 2 other courses in the last week and had the problem there too. I think more practice on a real green is in order. Will try what you mentioned. Are there any drills you would recommend to try and get my speed appreciation back?

Do this simple exercise… Look at the target while you hit the putt, focus on making a perfect stroke. Next, look at the ball while you make your stroke, focus on the target. In both instances, you are using covert attention, focusing on something that you are not looking at, golfers easily fall into this consistanty missing their distance. You do the same when you drive your car, looking at the road and focused on driving well. You cant expect to drive well when your looking at your car tuning your radio. I suspect this is what you have been doing, give it a try and let me know how you go.

No worries will do, I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks.
