Dear moonmag and All on the Path, Last week at The Golf Science Centre we had two 3D Myelinator Interactive Trainer/FocusBand Workshop and the results were unreal to say the least. From here on out for all who are on a Program of Instruction, I will certainly be including the 3D Trainer and FocusBand combination to drill in the important alignments and pivot motion and to help get the mind into a focused and relaxed state during every drill, address routine, and when hitting balls. Moonmag, when you return for your next series of Group Lessons it is a must to train using these High Tech Teaching Aides as they will shorten the training time by at least 10 x. Kind Regards, Peter C PS: I am looking forward to hear from Forum Members what they would like to add as a “Step 5” on your journey to building your own best golf swing!

So it’s true in the simplest of realms. How long does it take to drain 100 putts from 4 centimetres( by yourself); from 8 Dear Eva, Hope you like this Youtube on Putting the CGS way (short putter in hand) Gary Warburton, Head Teaching Professional at Nudgee Golf Club and Croker Golf System Instructor, demonstrates and defines the fundamentals of the putting stroke and how to remove any wrist breakdown through impact using the “Croker Golf System.” TAKING THE STANCE BUILDING A SOLID “NO BREAKDOWN” IMPACT ZONE “Thumbs Down” through “Impact” is the key as the right arm extends and drives the club shaft towards in-line with the left forearm. The putter head moves close to the ground and it is ideal for the putter head to remain still at the end of the follow through. Rory McIlroy is a stand out example of maintaining a “THUMBS DOWN” Follow Through. The “Putting Drill” with the “Yardstick” helps build a correct putting stroke and removes the over thinking that can lead to steering and inconsistent putting. Building solid putting mechanics is just the beginning of the process to become a super putter. Distance Control, Reading Greens, The Mental Game and How to develop it, are all required for a golfer to truly become a great putter. The Croker Golf System addresses all areas and the “Key to Golf Program” has it.

Gary Warburton and Peter Croker deliver a Putting Lesson Hi Peter, Something I noticed on the video is that Gary’s grip is different from your putting videos. His thumbs look on outside (or on top) of the putter grip rather than on back and front (or left and right side) of the putter grip? Moonmag

Dear Moonmag, Thanks for your observation here. Putting is one area where there is room to customize your grip on the club. Gary has a very sound and relaxed hold on the club and maintains good rhythm and a slow to medium tempo. Kind regards, Peter C PS: It is time to post your next step in your “Step by Step” jorney to building your own best swing.

Dear Moonmag and All, Please check out this video on BUILDING THE SWING STARTING WITH THE “CHIP SHOT” http://youtu.be/A1AHePK8oPo and then add your thoughts on what is your “Next Step” on your “Path to Better Golf” Looking forward to seeing what you would do at Step 4. Kind Regards, Peter C

Hi Peter
Inch by Inch is a Cinch, Yard by Yard is too Hard |

Had my first PC leson today with Gary Warburton at Nudgee. Gary was very good and explained the cause of my stroke faults even without me needing to expand on my basic explanation. Interesting to note that the setup for putting in the video is the same for hitting an iron – sure to promote consistency in my game! – Noel Price.

With straining a muscle in my right shoulder, practice is out of the question for the next week or three, and with my gopher out of action indefinitely, playing full rounds (including comps) is out also indefinitely… probably into the new year… I just can’t afford to get it fixed, or even looked at… It happens, quietly

Dear Mekat, Sorry to hear that you have a shoulder injury. Please check with Peter Ormsby as he will know a good person to help you repair such things. I do not understand what a “gopher” is. Please explain. Kind Regards, Peter C PS: This is a great time to focus on “left hand drills” with putting and chipping.

Dear Noel, Thanks for your post here and to see that you see the connection from Putt to full swing in the Croker Golf System. Keep “pushing” and keep up a lesson program with Gary – you will gain much from the regular lesson sessions when going step by step. Many students say to me that they will get back to me when they have polished the current lesson – my reply is that the “coaching corrections” need to be had shortly after their next practice sessions and not to wait till they have grooved in a wrong move. Enjoy the Hit! Peter C

Pete, I started with ISG because of your / Dart’s TGM explanation videos, which really helped me begin to understand and convert to a hitting action. I was making slow, but steady, progress with the occasional detour into unproductive areas. Then I felt I had got stuck and needed some fresh ideas, so got your The Hit ebook. The ebook immediately crystallised some key ideas that I had been sort of edging towards but had not quite put my finger on definitively. And I really like your Pushes, they stablised all parts of my hitting action. I am sure there is more for me to learn from CGS and your ebook, but the immediate benefits were exactly the confirmation, simplification and additional explanation I needed. Thanks again

Dear Devongolfer, Thanks for your acknowledgement here and I am most pleased to see you are making progress. I will include here what you need to look out for while taking lessons – over the Internet or “hands on.” WHY GOLF LESSONS DO NOT WORK! Whether you are a Tour Professional , a High Handicapper, or a Beginner Golfer, we all experience difficulty in transferring the advice given on the Lesson Tee to the Golf Course in the short term. Here are some reasons “WHY GOLF LESSONS DO NOT WORK” and “HOW TO MAKE GOLF LESSONS WORK FOR YOU!” BARRIERS TO LEARNING 0. Thinking there is nothing new to learn or that you already know what is needed to be known! 1. MISSING STEP #1 and then not building from this on a Step by Step Basis. 2. Not doing the correct amount of “DRILLING.” 3. Having wrong “CONCEPTS.” 4. Having wrong “DEFINITIONS” for the Mechanics of the Golf Swing. HOW TO MAKE GOLF LESSONS WORK FOR YOU! 1. Make a decision to build a new and improved golf swing from the ground up – starting with the “CHIP SHOT” – it is difficult to change a swing fault when trying to do it with the “FULL SWING” straight up!—And put a date for completion of phase 1 of your journey! 2. Book a series of Lessons – either Individually or in a small Group or attend a GOLF SCHOOL. Taking a Step by Step approach takes the pressure off and gives you the time to develop the feel and relaxed muscles and mind required to “swing” the club with minimum effort for the shot at hand. 3. Do the Drills! Nothing works unless you WORK! 4. ENJOY THE JOURNEY! Playing and Learning Golf is a lifetime journey – so embrace it! For those wanting to attend our VIP School on the Mornington Peninsula and attend the Melbourne Cup the following week check out this School at The Dunes

Hi Peter Looking forward to getting access to the next online segment of your program.

Dear Pawbush, Glad to have been of assistance in the short term. Please do not rest on your lorrels here. There is more work to do to “pressure proof” yourself for the journey ahead. Please email Paul on crokergolfsystem@gmail.com and get him to send the next in our Step by Step Internet lesson program. Kind Regards, Peter Croker

Dear Noel, Sorry for the late rely to your post here. Certainly Gary is a great Teacher and he applies the Croker Golf System Step by Step Program when looking to give you a plan to follow to improve your swing. The “Setup” for the golf shot from Putt to Drive has much in common and the length of club determines the amount of posture bend – in putting (unless using one of these extra long putters) there is much more bend from the hips than with the driver as the putter shaft is much shorter. Gary is able to spot the various “fundamentals” that will need attention as he has all the “Steps” of the “Step by Step Online Program” available as reference. Keep on “The Path” and Gary will help you polish your swing. Enjoy the Hit! Kind Regards, Peter Croker

Dear Pawbush, I have not seen you to check out if Step Two has been correctly applied and this is where the Instructor is of greatest value – in the coaching in of the fundamentals that the student already knows but is not duplicating. For the sake of all who have been following our Thread, I see it is time to move on in taking our next Step. For those who wish to fast forward their learning you can check out the Croker Golf System Step by Step Program from this Link. Good Golfing, Peter Croker

Had my first session of the Croker Golf System today (Golf Science Centre Cheltenham) and really like the idea’s Peter put forward. Interesting to see how after just this session, the concept of the forward press and then subsequent take away creates an on plane backswing almost effortlessly, i.e. properly executed the club moves on plane as opposed to me battling to keep it there. I also like how the CGS is a process. I went there not looking for a miracle cure (partly because I wasnt sure what I needed fixing) but a way to meet my own goals that I’ve set. Understanding the process that is a golf swing builds trust, and really, if I can trust my golf swing to do what I want it to do, then Im not complaining

Topic: Ask a Pro – Golf Instruction / Croker Golf System I was always a bit concerned about taking lessons until I heard about the Peter Croker System… If you have the patience this training technique is truly amazing.. My grip has improved therefore I’m making accurate and better contact..my stance was incorrect and you don’t realize these small but important adjustments until you see yourself on video.. It will take time as you start from hitting that perfect chip shot eventually hitting a perfect full swing.. Get on board it is 100% beneficial.

Dear Stuharv, Thanks for your feedback here. My questions to you are: 1. What “Step” are you on? We certainly need the patience while doing the drills and training in the “Step” we are currently on plus do not forget to “Over-Learn” any earlier “Steps” that have already been built to a competent level (If you don’t use it – you lose it!) PERSISTENCE is the other quality that needs to be applied if your goal is better Control, Power, and Consistency in your golf game. Look forward to hearing more from you and following your journey. Kind Regards, Peter Croker
